Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a fun trail in a city that's lacking many trails. It's location next to the beach is nice. The trail is mostly non-technical - most of it's pretty flat with some roots, some tight turns, some stretches of sand (easy to spin out on), and some sharp "hills" force some hard pulls. Whenever I'm in the city I try to ride at Hannah Park. The weekends can be crowded, as expected, but during the week you can psin around a few times without running across another rider. There's hose stations to rinse your bike off and ample parking.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Everyone who has riden this trail over and over, there is something new about this trail... volunteers and plenty of them, and they seem very well organized. This means those 'ol wore out trails that get sandy and sandier are beeing patched up for continuous smooth flowy trails. They apparently have had several volunteer work days over the last couple of months and were at it again today. They had a Frontend Loader, ATVs, trailers, hoes, shovels and racks moving dirt and packing limerock. They are even recutting some older abandoned trails.
Everywhere I rode I heard about this Steve guy, and I eventually actually ran into him, well almost coming around a corner on Grunt. He seems to have a e-mail list sending updates to the army of volunteers and seems to be organizer. They had a free lunches for their volunteers. I even saw employees from most of the local bike shops and they had brought demo bikes.
He put me on the e-mail list and looking forward to the updates, but I'll have my own hands full at Bayard.
Recommended Route: We like to warm up doing the northside, then do two fast laps on the south side. Other recommended trails in the same area: Graham Swamp, Fort Clinch, Santos, San Felasco and soon Bayard (still working on it).

Cross Country Rider Summary: Fast twisty singletrack -- some parts of the trail have good flow and nice berms. Other sections are fairly rooty and tight - nothing I would call technical, though. Biggest fault I can find with Hanna is the sand -- there are some sections (like Misery) that have extended stretches of sand. Other parts of the trail are essentially sand-pits. Not a big deal though and definitely not a deal breaker.
Overall, Hanna can be a pretty fun trail -- definitely not challenging, but if you like speedy singletrack there are some sections that fit the bill. Definitely recommended if you live in JAX.
As far as equipment is concerned - full suspension is totally overkill -- I ride this trail with no problems on a full rigid. Hanna is probably ideal for singlespeeding.
Recommended Route: I go down JTB and take a left off the Hodges exit. Continue down Hodges and then take a right to Atlantic. Drive down Atlantic and take the Mayport overpass exit. Continue down a couple of miles and take a right into Hanna. There are two loops in Hanna, One on the right and the other trailhead is about 25 yards down the road from the parking lot on the left. Other recommended trails in the same area: nothing else in JAX. Razorback, San Felasco in Ocala/Gainesville area.
