Summary:
Just an update, SFWMD has taken a bit of a turn and it being alot more cooperative. While there are still many things that need to happen for this to become a legal trail were no longer at odds with any of the parties involved and hope to have legal access soon!

Summary:
This trail is currently out of commission. In correction to a previous post, it is not at the fault of the new owners of the land, who have been very protactive in trying to keep this trail alive, but by the staunchness of SFWMD and their BUREAUCRAZYSTALINSIMNESS. Though they have tried to disguise their reasoning in any many ways, it basically comes down to $$$, as usual. Show me the $$$, we give you the land.....

None at the time. Overgrown wasteland thanks to SFWMD

Summary:
Bad news. This trail has been closed by developers who bought the property. There's a fence with no trespassing signs. I imagine some guys are still sneaking in, but that might not be good P.R. for the trail people trying to get the trail re-opened somehow.
It's a shame, because it was the best trail between Ft. Lauderdale and Ocala or Lakeland.
