FIRST ST SW TRAIL
9 reviews
 3.11 of 5

For your first time enter to the right trail entrance closest to the road (not lake). Trail twists and turns a lot with various easy/intermediate/hard obstacles. You may get a little turned around but remember there is a long section to the south west along the canal, don't miss it, there is a cool teetertotter and other stuff down there. Swamp area in approximate middle of trail is a little interesting, not too bad if it's fairly dry. Watch for newest part of trail which branches off original trail towards the end, to the right, small bridge over water, then around lake through pine trees and back to start over semi-difficult ridge ride along First St. SW ditch.

Summary:
I was out at the trail this weekend it was alot of fun, at hasnt rained in a while so it was very dry and hard pack no sand, this is the place to go if it hasnt rained in a long time. the trail was in good shape but you could tell that it hasnt been ridden in a while. the trail goes all over the place, but I was able to figure out a pretty good loop that connected most of the finger ridges that go around the lakes. the trail does have some change in elevation about 10 foot at the most. The trail is also very tight. you can go fast thru almost all of the sections in all about 4+ miles. Yes they have done some clearing of some of the trail back last year, but is seems like they have stopped. The trail is in good shape and alot of fun for around here!

I'm a freerider/racer and this trail sucks. Alot of the trail is water logged and its flat and no drops jumps or anything.........the wooden crap goes up then down no drop just crappy ass begginer crap. Don't waste ur gas or time to go here its surrounded by a new subdivision and i would guess they dont want mountain bikers in the back yard cause that is basically where u are half the time. I give this trail 2 out of 10.

Summary:
I just went on this trail this weekend for the first time and had a blast. The trail was not fenced in and had some cool ramps and logs you could ride over. There was some narrow areas but it was awesome riding along the water (but be careful!) We stopped by the lake and even saw some alligators.
Hopefully, this trail is not destroyed because it's one of the best things in Vero Beach. It will give you a good workout and it's extremely fun. It's an intermediate trail, but most beginners could probably handle it. This trail rocks and I can't wait to go back!!!

Recommended Route:
Travel the entire trail, but bring bug spray and plenty of water.

As of two weeks ago, this trail is no more. Construction has taken out some of the trail, and the rest has been fenced in. RIP
