The trail is situated on a 55 ft. elevation abandoned landfill. It is 100% singletrack composed of a crushed stone surface that is one to two feet wide. The rest of the landfill is covered with vegetation. There are some small trees that provide some shade, but most of the ride is in the sun. The trail is approx. 3 1/2 miles long. The trail ascends and decends many times as it goes around the hill. There tends to be some trail erosion after heavy rains, so watch out for those ruts. There is a short practice trail at the top (less than 1/2 mile). This park is pretty unique and offers a great solution for utilizing old landfills.
Summary: Rode this trail for the first time today. My 13yo son and I decided to ride the outer trail since it was very dark and gloomey. We didnt want to get caught in the open during our ride so we figured that the outer trail had way more cover. It was actually a really fun ride. Its very fast, but somewhat technical at the same time. The course is extremely narrow, in fact I had quite a few close calls dodging trees with my shoulders and handlebars and root and stumps with my tires. It was even more interesting after the downpour we got caught in. The ground was quite slipery which made it even more fun. There are a few more intermediate, technical features that you have to look for to give some some practice if you're looking to improve your bike handling skills. There a short root-loop that looks to be freshly cut toward the middle of the course that was very fun. I had to go through 3 times just because it was soo fun. There are several small log obsticles with bypasses for beginners. Also stumbled on what appeared to be a small dual-slalom dirt track that is under construction in a small clearing. It had a steep hill drop in with a few small dirt jumps and some nice berms. Definately had fun with this one for a quick afterwork ride or late weekend ride. Still prefer Jonathan Dickinson more for the technicality level.
Recommended Route: Outer Ring, starts by the Soccer fields and ends right before the baseball fields....
Other recommended trails in the same area: Jonathan Dickinson, Quiet Waters, Markam Park

Summary: Rode the hill loop today. This is a really fun trail because of the ups and downs. You can get some good speed going downhill and the uphills are a great workout. The hill trail needs more people riding it but it is a great workout. So come on out, this is challenging alternative to Markham Park.
Recommended Route: Park near the baseball fields and go to the top of the hill and look for the trail and follow it. You will be going up and down and criss crossing the hill as you go around it.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Markham Park

Summary: moved down here from Central FL 6 months ago and have been hitting up this trail atleast once a week.
Outer Loop: Moderately technical singletrack w/ some twisty switchbacks and a little bit of sand here and there. For SoFL this trail has really nice soil. Some sections allow you to get some speed and crank out some turns between the trees. Some rooty sections, but they are manageable w/ practice. Towards the southeast corner, there is a section with some rooty stumps (looks like a bunch of stalagmites) that may wreak havoc on your tires and rims. After a rain the southeast section will flood but there is a dirt road bypass.
Hill Loop: It's back open and offers a different type of workout... You can generate some speed but the soil is dry and loose. Great for the cardio. unfortunately the parks dept. still uses a tractor to mow the hill, I think it looks better with all the wildflowers growing alongside the path. Probably better for the soil and the trail if they didn't mow it.
Recommended Route: Off Haverhill just south of the Bee Line... An old dump that is now a park! FL mountains :-) Park next to the soccer fields and the outer loop starts on the other side of the canal (west of the fields)... the Hill Loop is on the hill North of the soccer fields.

Summary: This is a review of the trail that run in the woods around the edge of the park.(The hill trail has been closed for over a year). This trail is about 4.8 miles, and hard packed all year long. This is not a very Technical trail, but it is fast and mostly in the shade. It is not all flat, there are small hills on the trail.
Recommended Route: You can park by soccer fields,at west side of park. Then go south then west on the dirt road.Trail head is in woods just west of small lake.On the south side when you come out of woods, follow paved road west, keep going as far as you can go west on double track down hill into the woods again.

Summary: Took a friend yesterday to Dyer Park. I have not been there for about 2 years because the hill trail was not shaded and was tedious (ruts, loose gravel). We noticed that the hill route was pretty washed-out or non-existant so we traversed on the the paved routes. This is where we came apon the designated (signed) mountain bike tral that follows the perimeter of the park. It is under shade and zig-zags through the wooded section with lakes and canals as boarders. It shares the trail on the east and south side of the park with horses (never have seen any there). Its a good ride for speed and minor technical areas are thrown in (small section of palmetto roots, no sand traps like Camp Murphy). All in all, it is a great workout that is near my home. The park also has R/C racing & a plane field, golf, soccer, basketball, softball/baseball, and horse trails (you bring the horse). It is a good park to bring the family. The county made a dump into a really nice park. Have fun!
Recommended Route: The perimeter designated mountain bike trail. The paved trails are nice for alll age groups.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Quiet Waters in Pompano Beach, Camp Murphy in Hobe Sound, Oleta in Miami, Santos and Riddick in North Florida, Alafia State Park near Tampa or Camp Thunder - Thunder Mountain, Georgia.
