Summary:
tremendous! rode on christmas day 2008. no one in sight but herons and probably some alligators in the swamp and a turtle crossing the trail. very technical rooty-swooping sections in the advanced trail fingers that shoot out from the lakes. 15 to 30 foot drops everywhere. quite difficult when clipped in. keep up your speed because there is no bail out room anywhere. well maintained and exhilarating! i will be back tomorrow.

Recommended Route:
sneaky snake and moe. still have others to explore...

Summary:
This was the first trail I rode in Florida (I started in Feb '08) and I was definitely impressed as well as scared (it was also my bike), Since then I've goten a new bike and I love this place but I'm a FREERIDER so my progress is blazing fast I'm working on 10 footers now. Ridge Riders has this place on lock! Check it out you will not be dissapointed if XC is what you like.

Recommended Route:
The whole trail.

The TOE LOL! NO but really I just started riding but I couldn't accept the fact its dead so I revived it! Alafia, Balm-Boyette Scrub preserve. Other than that is Lakeland Urban Assault Rides. Ride SAFE!

Once a week

Summary:
I ride Carter road about twice a week. The trails are excellent if you know your way around the park. There are a few trails which can be deceiving and can get you a little wet if your not paying attention. Puff n stuff and sneaky snake are the best at this.

Recommended Route:
If its your first time out i would ride starting at Ivy to Sprinkler hill to Horseshoe through crud buddy, snake ridge then To roller coaster. Roller coaster has a upper and lower ledge, the lower is much easier but not as exciting. However both paths will take you to the same place. Continue on and you will dump out near the park entance.

Summary:
Rolling up/downs, narrow ridges, power climbs, typical rollercoaster inspired Florida trails. I was hoping to see Gators, but didnt. Lots of bird life.
Well worth it from Tampa. Very, very fine for this yankee tourist!

Recommended Route:
I started near the ball fields. There is a bike wash, if needed. Signage, and the trail conditions were great. Thanks to those who pitch in.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Boyette, Alafia, Santos, Croom.

Summary:
Like others have said; there is something for everyone and about every skill level (for the area). I would say this trail has sections that are more challenging and technical than anything at alafia or boyette. The penalty for failure is also much higher, which can result in a 20' fall right into a lake with several gators. However, like with anything where the stakes are higher, the rush is that much better.
