Weekend Warrior Summary: The 49th Avenue trails are a part of the Santos trail system, maintained by the Ocala Mountain Bike Association volunteers (omba.org). These trails are mostly shady, flat, fast and twisty - good for an aerobic workout. Nayl's Trail is more of a roller coaster ride with some tricky technical spots.
See OMBA's new maps at http://omba.org/index.php/Maps.html, especially our new Google Maps: http://tinyurl.com/omba-49th Recommended Route: The Land Bridge Trailhead is a good starting point for family-type rides: shaded picnic area, restrooms, easy trails close by, close to the scenic Land Bridge.
If you just want to do the harder trails, Nayl's and Canal Diggings, you might want to start from the 49th Avenue Trailhead.
The Santos Trailhead offers a wide variety of trails from easy to insane, a freeride area, dirt-jumps and 2 pump tracks.

Cross Country Rider Summary: A lot of work has been going on with the trail system, so almost all of the trails are in excellent riding shpe. the Ocala Mountain Bike Association along with OGT has been working very hard to maintain the trails. There is something for everyone at santos, from kids on training wheels to the extreme freeride guys, and all bikes in between. Recommended Route: Yellow = easy
Blue = intermediate
Red = expert
Black Diamond and above = you are an adrenaline junkie Other recommended trails in the same area: We have several trailheads to choose from, so have fun.

Cross Country Rider Summary: We camped at santos and had a great time riding the newwork there. We met a dude from OMBA that told us to got to the 49th street TH and go under the bidge to the left then look to the right for nayls trail. YEAH BUDDY that trail is sweet. quite a bit of up and downs I didn't come across to much man made obsticles, but the natural terrain seems to be good enough. I will return as soon as possible!! Great Job OMBA and thank you Gary H. Recommended Route: we headed out on the blue and came back on the yellow. Other recommended trails in the same area: Santos network

Weekend Warrior Summary: Excellent trail for the XC specialist. I like singletrack, but prefer the red trails and quarries at Santos, Markham Park in Miami, and Quiet Waters in Miami. These trails are great for those who want to ride a nice network of XC trails. Other recommended trails in the same area: Santos of course, Razorback

Cross Country Rider Summary: Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake. Say it one time for me. I saw a five-footer lazing by the trail, scared the !@#^* out of me. As with the entire Santos and affiliated system, this trail has flow. Occasional sand, but not worth avoiding. Fast lines and some tricky dips and climbs. How do I buy OMBA some cold beers? Recommended Route: Out to the right, back on the new canal diggings trail, very sporty. Other recommended trails in the same area: As far as you can go in a day.
