Racer Summary:
Hi Fellow Riders:
I live right by the power lines. They used to be great back in the day. But now the land owner is always lurking around, and I've heard people shooting around back there. Recently GRU posted no tresspassing signs everywhere, so I guess they mean it. A friend of mine said he went back there to check it out today, and he said there's nothing left of the old powerlines. The hurricanes and the vegetation completed ruined it.
The Rock trail is good, or San Felasco, but I can't recommend the powerlines.
Recommended Route: Don't. Other recommended trails in the same area: The Rock Trail, San Felasco, Santos (Ocala).

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a memorial posting. The powerlines/quarry were the greatest trails in Florida in their prime. There was everything X-Country, downhills, jumps, bridges, and climbs. My goal in life is to make enough money and buy the land back and just run a bike park. Long live the Powerlines. If Santos is the benchmark 5 in Florida the Powerlines would have a 5.4. Recommended Route: Don't ride there....there are only GRU roads. Other recommended trails in the same area: San Fal, Rock trails

Weekend Warrior Summary: Finally got tired of driving to San Felasco and went to see these trails today. Most of what I was riding was the powerline stuff, but I did see some singletrack stuff in places. A lot of the trails were overgrown, but some looked as if people have been riding them. I didn't have a problem with police or anything, although I was nervous after reading all the tales of getting busted. I figure that if people are gonna get pissed off then screw them, I'm just riding my bike. I did see another biker out there that said that someone crashed and sued the landowners a few years back. Sounds like some loser wrecked the place for everyone with that move. The biker I saw also said that a lot of the fences were pretty new out there and that most of the trails were in the fenced section. The fences looked as if there was an army base back there or someting, razor wire at the gates, and barb wire everywhere.
Anyway, this was my first time out there and it was basically a scouting ride. The land has huge potential for fun trails and killer climbs, there is tons of elevation change. I'll definately be going back out there so if anyone in G-ville wants to bring this area back to life shoot me an email and check the place out.
I can't rate the place yet, so i give it all fives. Recommended Route: I don't know any yet. Other recommended trails in the same area: San Felasco, Razorback, or Santos.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Does anybody dare to venture out to these trails anymore? Or have they been given up on and forgotten? Situations like this are a shame. We need good trails around town for quick rides. Is there a group of people that would be interested in creating a new trail or cleaning up the old? Other recommended trails in the same area: San Felasco! It's so close but so far away, and $2. I'm a poor student, what can I say? Santos/Razorback
