Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Weekend Warrior Summary: I was in the area for the 4th of July weekend and this trail along with two other trails (Markham) and (Olita) was my main reason for being in Miami. I have to say that the trails at Amelia would be allot more fun if maintained more. Not being an ass, only honest. After seeing these trails I appreciate more than ever some of our trails around Florida who are fortunate enough to have strong organizations that maintain them. I understand that mainly this time of year the weeds are just out of control but as I started down the "Little Razorback" trail I went about 100 feet or so and nearly lost it down a little 3 or 4 Ft. down slope that I could not see for the saw grass. I stayed with it but as I rounded the next corner to the left,I couldn't even see where the trail was going. Saw Grass was just too thick and about 6 or 7 feet tall. I am sure in the winter months these trails are allot of fun and if you even half way know where you are going would be very fast.
I think all trails are great just some are better than others. I will ride this park again in the future.

Cross Country Rider Summary: If you haven't been to this trail in awhile now's the time to go. There was just a race there this weekend so the trail maintenance team cleared it up pretty good. It's fast and has a great flow. It's a great beginner to intermediate trail with nothing to really worry about hurting yourself on. There aren't any WTF?!?! sections. The climbs are quick and steep, to long & steady (for Miami) and leg burning if you're not expecting it. This is the trail where you go and do a few laps and just have a blast.
It's definitely a Winter trail as this place does have poor drainage in sections, so if it gets rained on pretty good it will resemble a swamp in some sections. So during the summer months it's probably best to stay away with all the rains.
I give it 4 Chili's because it's just FUN, with 3's for difficulty.
Recommended Route: I like to start at the entrance, bypassing trick or treat it it's muddy, then doing the whole trail. I'll mix up the 2nd lap by starting back at the 2nd half of the trail (If you've been there I think of it as the harder part, or the south half, or the Sandbowl as I think I've read on other sites) then back to the entrance and first half of the trail. Approximately 5.5 to 6 miles per lap. Other recommended trails in the same area: Markham & Oleta

Weekend Warrior Summary: As all S. Florida riders do, I got a bit burned out on a steady diet of Oleta and Markham, so I decided to check this place out. I'm just posting now but it was about 4-6 weeks ago that I was there. It was horrible! One section was terribly flooded and impossible to ride. The rest of the trail was completely overgrown, practically unrideable because you had to ride with your head down so as to not lose an eye! Sorry to put the place down but a little trail maintenance wouldn't hurt. Only rode for about 15 minutes because it was a miserable experience. The place could also use a bike wash.
It seems like it would be fast if it was properly maintained, but I guess that's what you get for riding in Hialeah!
I figured I would give it another shot in the winter when the vegetation has calmed down a little.
And before anyone bashes me for putting this place down, I am a dedicated rider who braves any and all conditions. I ride bloody, beaten, wet, cold, etc. But this place on this day was just downright awful. Let's hope it rides better in the winter. Other recommended trails in the same area: THe only other trails in the area...Markham and Oleta

Weekend Warrior Summary: I can usually be seen at Markham or Oleta, but my friend the other day who has rode this trail said I had to check it out. So we went down there last weekend. I was not expecting much because I read all the reviews on this site. I was totally impressed. I am more a fan of a fun ride than a hard ride. This trail was totally fun. Nothing crazy hard. The scenery changes with the trail. Goes through the forest, then some grass, a little sand, some ups (nothing hard like gun range at markham) and downs (hit 23mph). I felt it had a really nice flow. The trail is only 5.25 miles by my cycloputer, so we ran it twice with relative ease. Not only that but their was hardly anyone on the trail and it was pouring rain! Fun times! Recommended Route: Only one route we found. Decently posted trail signs. Get good directions though. Other recommended trails in the same area: The usual suspects: markham and oleta.
