There is miles and miles of single track and trails. It varies between thick woods, wide bike paths, and paths through corn fields. It is very hilly with lots of nice long steady climbs and descents. Nothing mountainous just nice long steady climbs. There are so many miles of trails that it is never crowded and always fun.
It is on the southbound side of rt.202 (Concord Pike) across from the Concord Mall. There are any number of places to park and ride. I use the parking lot behind the Lone Star and the Olive Garden Restaraunts. I enter the woods between the two hotels that are there.
Summary: I have to rebutt Scratch and Sniff's review. This trail is not all wood chips and easy riding: It interconnects with Brandywine effectively extending both trails significantly. There's a couple other drop-ins other than the one immediately behind the restaurants. There's two more toward the north along the road that runs behind the restauants.
Once you get into the trees there's extensive singletrack, uphill/fastr downhills, alternate trails, a couple bowls, roots, mud, leaves, some technical (tight switchbacks with trees). You can run into the Brandywine trail, which itself can be very technical, or easy, depending on where you go. Potential for tens of miles depending on the route taken. I've done 12+ miles without crossing my own trail.
Recommended Route: Enter from parking lot behind restaurants on 202. Follow the trail that parallels the road going behind restaurants. It will intersect Thompson Bridge road-cross road and follow woodchips into woods.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Fair Hill, Elkton. 5000+ acres on old DuPont estates.
Brandywine
Middle Run (Muddy Run). Short-but technical, fast, fun.

Summary: I learned to ride on these trails and have since moved to Georgia. I've explored several trails down here, as well as some in VA and in western NC, including the mecca known as Tsali, and I can say that the trails up in DE are as good or better than trails down here. When I lived in DE, I rode 4 or 5 times a week and never rode the same route twice. There are so many offshoots from the main trail down by the creek, that it would be nearly impossible to follow the same route. There are several good climbs, depending on the route you take, as well as some technical sections including a wooded area full of mica.
Recommended Route: 1) Take Sharpley Road due west of 202 until it dead ends. There's a trail head about 50 feet to the right of the intersection, across the street from the church.
2) Next to the JCC

Summary: the A** wipe employee at Alan's bikes was not very helpful or enthusiastic about providing any information on where to ride. anyway, i took the liberty of exploring the trails by myself and was disappointed with the lack of technical riding. the scenery is beautiful, however pale in technical comparison to Wissahickon, French Creek, Jim Thorpe or Elk Neck SP. Jesus, i never rode on so many freak'in miles of wood chips in my entire life. BORING!!!
Recommended Route: park and ride off of Rt. 202

Summary: I love this trail, but more importantly, the trails just north of the Brandywine Creek State Park totally rock. They are in the "Woodlawn Property" as detailed in this map: http://www.destateparks.com/bcsp/bcspdetail.htm does anybody know of a resource for these trails in the Woodlawn area? (they occasionally ride along side of farms) I can't find any maps of the trails online?
Recommended Route: The Jewish Center on 202 south is an easy in.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Brandywine Creek State Park
