4 distinct loops from very easy to very scary. Some are very serpentine and slow, others are fast. Some nice climbs and descents. Loop that starts to left of parking lot has some serious drop-offs on either side of trail; ride with caution.

Summary:
As i read these reviews many of them are very wrong and i can see that many of you have only ridden here once or twice. its quite a simple set of trails, yes there are more trails than you can count, but you should never get lost. its very simple theres 3 main fireroads in the park and every trail leads to them. if you take a left off the fireroad simple take a right when you come back to it and you will end up back at the parking lot. these are some of the best trails in the state and a lot of people work very hard to keep this place open. there are many drops along the trails but you dont have to worry if you cant do them there are cut offs to go around. i highly recommend this place to anyone there are trails of every ability.

Recommended Route:
One of the biggest problems this place has is that people do not enter in the right spot. if your parking by the community gardens and crossing the fields to enter the trails you are the reason they are trying to shut this place down. the landowner of the field to enter from the soccer fields does not want people crossing there. instead (when coming from I91) pass the community gardens and take the first road on the right(im not sure of the name) but its the only road there you cant miss it. once on that road you want to take the first road on the right (tyler mill rd) it will cross a little bridge and head into the woods. the road will turn to gravel but go all the way to the end and there are some parking spots directly in the center of the trails. this is where you should be parking and entering the trails from.

Summary:
Rode here quite a bit last year when it was dry. Nice technical single track off the paved road. Dooley race course is awesome. Stay away after it rains. Last weekend the place was a mud pit!! Not fun!! Could not sustain a good ride.

Recommended Route:
Park in Vietnam Memorial Park. Go up hill thru grass and take right at first fork. Sick uphill (watch out for snakes dropping from trees) . Next fork stay left until you come out on road. Follow road down over bridge and take left up hill. Stay on road and take 3rd right for some nice tech single track. Hook up with race course back to the triangle. Nice ride!!!

Summary:
There was some yellow race tape up so they must have had the rac up there a few weeks ago. It had also rained and course was really chewed up so it was muddier than usual and that is saying a bit since this is one of the muddier rides in southern CT. But it's also why it's fun. Great as usual...

Recommended Route:
Just park at the Vietnam Veterans lot and head up the hill and bear right into the woods then at the next fork bear left and go down to the forest road. Turn right onto the forest road and bear right at the next fork in the paved road. Go thru a couple of big cement blocks and head left uphill on the dirt gravel road and then look on the right for the trail entrance to the singletrack.

Summary:
We need to keep the Quads out, some local kids are trashing the system by mowing trees down and creating 'go arounds' where they can't get through the trees.CONFRONT them and tell them to GET OUT!!!They do not belong here and are creating mud pits in some spots.Roll boulders back into wall crossings and do EVERYTHING possible to make it difficult for them to access the trails.I also think more signs should be posted telling them that they are not welcome here. This is a difficult issue but these trails are well worth saving.

Recommended Route:
All the trails are cool, but Quads are tearing the place up.

Summary:
I've only ridden this once, so there are plenty of other more detailed reviews and descriptions of this trail. Just want to go on the record as saying this place is FUN! Rolling hills, tight single track, water crossings and plenty of surrounding fire roads for newcomers. A blast for XC riders.
