Cross Country Rider Summary: I stumbled on this trail because another favorite was closed.. ..anyway I enjoyed the ride. There are two distinct parts of this park - the trails surrounding the pond and the up mountain trails.
Around the pond - there are some super-easy double track with tons of hikers. - The green trail is a great loop to warmup with some pretty steep and steady climbs.
The second part of the park really starts when you leave the pond area. This is for intermediates and up. the singletrack gets narrower, rockier, and a lot more fun. When you get to the yellow and red trails higer up it'll get so tricky and steep at spots theres a guaranteed hike a bike - even for experts.
Its not the worlds best trails for sure- but I'd say its worth the trip - at least for vareity's sake. If you explore and multi-loop its a 2-2:30 ride. More than that and you'll get bored. expect a good workout from some decent climbs too. Recommended Route: see above Other recommended trails in the same area: not much. Usually ride mianus or trumbull.

, from ct Summary: Starting with Bennett's pond trail system, most of the trails are buff and easy.. Can't believe im saying this but some great single-track.. Some not so great grassy, muddy sections too, but all in all, very ride-able buff trails.. The more difficult trails are located at the north end of bennett's pond trail system.. Blue was really cool taken from yellow to white.. White had some nice bridges but some minor hike a bike.. Yellow was great, but some hike a bike up, would be great coming down.. The Pine Mountain area was awesome.. Some of the coolest rocky single-track I have encountered.. Found a nice 8 foot roller, many cool rock obstacles, some HB but worth it.. Nice views from the top. Hard part is getting up to pine mountain. Orange up is the most rideable route, but very steep - as steep as you can ride.. Yellow up on either side (ie from pine mountain road or from the remove skiis sign)has some hike a bike.. Yellow loop up on top of pine mountain platue is great, but a bit too short.. Wicked cool place but finding a good flowing loop is sort of tough .. I will definetely be back for more.. Recommended Route: http://www.bikerag.com/images/MAPS/ct_wooster_mountain_state_park_review.htm GO here for a trail map and some pics.. Other recommended trails in the same area: Terrywile (is really bad dont go there), Ninmham I hear is good

, from Ridgefield, CT Summary: This place is a challenging ride. Lots of climbing. There are some very techinical spots and great downhills. Get to Pine Mtn. that is where the good stuff is. You can get in a solid 4-5 hour ride. It's worth checking out. Recommended Route: Start at the bottom, ride on the fire road for a little bit and look for a singletrack trail on your left. Ride that trail for a while. You want to get over to Pine Mtn. The climb starts by the "Remove Skis" sign. Get to the top and there is some great stuff up there.

, from CT Summary: A really nice find in this part of CT. This is Ridgefield Open Space and it is generally well preserved and maintained. Some nice climbs and singletrack given the generally small area. As primarily an XC rider/racer, I'd say this trail is probably best suited to the more technical-minded full suspension rider. There are some pretty gnarly granite-strewn short descents that are perfect for big travel rigs. However, pretty much anyone can find something they like here. The shaded/unexposed quality of the area is really nice and unique. Recommended Route: There aren't many permutations so first go with the white blazes and then the blue. Novices or those wanting a more sedate ride should stay with the fire road. Riding the road to the trailhead (if possible) is a great way to warm up for the ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: Huntington (sorry, that's about it since I've just moved to the area)

, from New Fairfield Summary: I have only started finding my way around, there seems to be a ton of trails hidden away. There are some great technical areas with little rest for the beginner. Most of the ride is clear cut for you to find your way, although having a good sense of direction is a plus. There is very little smooth riding, so if you want a challenge this is the place. I highly recommend this trail to the advanced rider. Recommended Route: I start at the lower parking area, follow the fire trail and break left when I see a trail. this is some of the best trails Ive been on. Other recommended trails in the same area: JFK is ok, Pootatuck is cool at night, Tarrywile is great
