, from Branford,CT, Summary: This is one of the best trails in CT. It is technical but a beginner can attepmt it if you like some hike and bike. I have ridden this for years and I still seem to find new stuf even with a map. What most people don't know is that there is another whole section that you can ride into the Stoney Creek quarries that is AWESOME. Bring a pic-nic for the rock on Lost Lake(you'll need to eat after riding here all day) Recommended Route: You really should go with someone who knows this trail for the first time. You can try on your own but you may get lost even with the map. Once I found myself climbing up a cliff and rode a great Mountain ridge. Crazy freeriders can find cool stuff in remote places. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tyler's mill, Supply Pond

, from Killingly CT Summary: Bitchen, outa controll, nasty drops, technical, ups, downs, you name it, it's got it. Nice views, nasty bugs, frequent logging, take the good with the bad and just peddal. Its easy to get lost, but equaly easy to find your way out, bring a map to reduce frustration. NOT for beginers or the weak of heart! Recommended Route: From the Dunk Rock Road entrance: Green, take a left on purple, left on yellow, left on red, back to dunk rock.

Ridden Trail: Once a week

, from Guilford Summary: Advance warning: Do not bring your girlfriend here to learn how to bike unless: 1. She's Missy Giove 2. She likes to push and carry her bike while getting bit by large nasty bugs. I found this place when I started riding in 89 when I was in college. I moved to Guilford to be closer to my first job and Westwoods. It has changed a lot over the past decade, (trail erosion and pine tree blight), but even though its uglier, its as mean a place to ride as ever. Follow that green I mentioned before straight around to left on lavender. That's really technical. If you are good, you can ride that section to the second stream. If it were golf, I'd give it a par 1 (meaning that you should only take your feet off your pedals once for that section). There's some really tricky rock areas after that that I've never cleared. Once you cross the blue trail things get easier. It's a super fast downhill with a 6 foot drop about 1/2 a mile in. Stay on lavender then bear right onto yellow. It's really technical here and you have to keep bearing to your right at every chance, or you'll end up stuck in the mud. Follow this out to white (Lost lake overlook). Then return on orange when white hits orange. Recommended Route: Park at Dunk Rock like everyone says then ride back on the road to the first driveway on the left. That driveway banks right. If you head straight you get a faster injection into the heart of the trails (green). Other recommended trails in the same area: I thought I was a good rider until I saw the real mental cases out here. This place is not for the timid or somebody looking for a good aerobic workout. It's pure skill and adrenaline!

, from Clinton, CT/Durango, CO Summary: No joke, this is some of the best riding in New England. Really technical in some sections, and intermediate in others. Its like one big playground. good drops and technical downhills. Recommended Route: My adivse is just go in there and get lost. there is civilization on every side, so you do not have to worrie about much...that way you will find all the trails...and trust me, they are all very good.
