Albert Byram Trail

 0 of 5

This is by far the most beautiful trail in the Fairfield Connecticut region. It is wild and untamed, and unknown going West along the Byram River on much of the trail system. Even unknown to fisherman, I caught a 2lb native Brook Trout in this river {pink flesh}. There are a wide variety of trails coming off of the main trail that starts off easy, but becomes progressively more difficult. There are some trails that are strictly for professionals. There is no entrance to this trail system, but only a dirt side pull off by the trails start. To identify the entrance, you have to look to the right driving up the road, and see about twenty feet in a couple of wood poles with red painted on the squares. Don''t confuse this with the Audobon where the entrance is a few hundred feet further up the road. Mountain Bikers are not allowed to park there.
