Weekend Warrior Summary: Soapstone is fantastic. I can spend hours just wandering, there are so many different routes. I can't think of any piece of singletrack that is "easy". Most are technical with steep and rocky sections. But the place is a decent ride for beginners, too. Dirt road and double track: Sodom Rd. and around the lake. Recommended Route: None really, just wander until you find a trail that feels right. Other recommended trails in the same area: Case.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Classic New England rocks and roots - plenty of good technical riding - only 300ft. of elevation from Gulf Road parking lot to the Lookout Tower, but many ups and downs - the view from the lookout tower is worth the visit - difficult to find good trail maps of this area. Recommended Route: I haven't yet found the best route - will kepp you posted

, from Connecicut Summary: i ride soapstone almost every day. The trails are almost all single track (except the access road to the top of the mountain) rocky and steep. The trails are very technical with very hard climbs, nice hits, good drops, and lots of rocks. This place is nice. I would recommend the trails to advanced riders. But the access road to the top of Soapstone mountain is for everyone.(its great coming down) Recommended Route: From the access road ride up about one mile and from there the good trails will start to show up. They are all over the place once you start, so just go with it and youll find nice routes.

, from ct Summary: Soapstone, 3 words, great rocky singletrack. Some long down hills, nemesis short technical climbs, rock gardens etc... Great night ride! - Not so great if its wet. We did a zero degree frozen stream ride here once - EPIC - frostbite ride, ground felt pretty hard when I hit it too!! Recommended Route: http://www.bikerag.com/images/MAPS/ct-soapstone_map.htm
