Downhiller Summary: these are the most technical trails in the state, i guarentee that no matter what your skill level you will find these trails a blast to ride. i generally start from route 17 and go all the way over the ridge coming out at route 66 or black pond. this is an ALL day ride. but its worth it the views from the top of the ridge are amazing, and the downhill trails are probably the best in the state, we (the locals) are working on getting powder ridge to open the lifts in the summer, the current problem is they dont think it is safe to haul bikes on the lifts without expensive upgrades to the lifts, they are also worried that not enough people would ride, so i highly recommend you ride over here it could end up being a great place. Other recommended trails in the same area: any of the blue blazed trails are tight, technical single track. also tyler mill located in wallingford just of I91. also the middlesex trail system in middletown, and if you make friends with locals you will meet on these trails you might get lucky enough to get access to some secret spots in the area, there are several freeride parks that were made and maintained by locals so not too many people know of them,

Cross Country Rider Summary: Tough Trails - I live right below the Ridge Line and have explored them extensively. Best views of CT can be found between RT 68 and Rt 17 - many areas are unrideable but worth the view. There is one point that gives you views of Long Island sound on a clear day - its really up there for CT. Full suspension in these areas is a must but I'm riding a hard tail since I broke my full suspension frame. It tends to be a ride where you need to go out and turn back from either side of Powder Ridge. Recommended Route: Views - Between RT 68 and RT 17 (Roughest trails in Ct). Smoother riding between RT 68 and Mount Higby but still tough riding. Other recommended trails in the same area: Pisgah Mountain area - between Rt 79 and Rt 77 has more rideable trails. Great area with lots of variety

, from cromwell Summary: THESE TRAILS RULE! They are soo technical. very very very rocky. Body armor is a must if you want to get any speed going down. I would say full suspension helps to. You dont need it though. IF more people go there then they would open the lifts making everyones life a little easier. Especially downhillers. Just go there some day and ride. There are tons of trails. Recommended Route: There are a lot of trails. I havent gone on all of them.
