Weekend Warrior Summary: Motorbikes and quads have ripped up the trails in the Naugatuck State Forest. To make a bad morning worse, some traiil improvement work earned me a citation and fine from a forest ranger that creeped up to me. He said the forest is closed to bikes and trail work. I only saw one sign to that effect on my way out. The dude was a pain. He said Brooksvale Park is closed to biking too. Recommended Route: Try Larkin Bridle trail. This isn't worth the trouble. Other recommended trails in the same area: Larkin

Weekend Warrior Summary: Since this trail is on my way home from work I use it for strength training. My goal is to make it all the way up to the gas lines in Naugatuck State Forest without stopping. Right now I take a short loop up and to the left, taking the connector over to the power lines and then blast on back down to the Hamden/Cheshire linear trail. It's a great view of the lower Cheshire Valley when you come out on the power lines. Recommended Route: See above Other recommended trails in the same area: Naugatuck State Forest (start behind the YMCA Outdoor Center) off Gaylord Mtn Road in Hamden.

Downhiller Summary: Brooksvale has some good trails, the begining is mostly uphill and bringing a heavy bike would be stupid. It has a good DJ travel and many new trails are being added. Too bad the North Shore was takin down or is now unrideable. It's kinda hard too get lost, but awhile ago I took a wrong turn and ended up far away from Brooksvale, I wouldn't recommend going past 4:00ish considering u'll spend a good 2-3 hours in there. Recommended Route: Anything
