Summary:
Thanks Jon for the alternate route on this trail. I rode it last year and really liked it. The downhill from the Hot Springs is killer. Really lush. Kind of felt like I was in Washington or Oregon and not Colorado. 3 stars only because the single track left me unsatisfied

Recommended Route:
I'm a wimp- I shuttled it from town.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Mad Creek. Divide Trail (top of Rabbit Ears Pass)

Summary:
A great long ride with good cardio climbs and smooth fast desents. Please don't ride when wet and watch for people on the hot springs section. Excellent ride because you can opt out at anytime, and still get a great ride.

Recommended Route:
There are three possible routes for this trail each just an added loop. I recommend the full trifecta. Start in town and ride out to the hot springs on strawberry park raod. From the parking lot continue down the road until it ends and start down the single track which rips along a winding side hill for @3 miles. At the end it 't's into a road turn right and ride up the road through a few gates and the start downhill. After a few hundrred yards look for a single track going off to the right, which is just an alternet desent and rejoins the road again. The road drops you down to Mad Creek. Cross the bridge turn left and ride on until the road bends right toward the house. Go straight across the field on wide single track, and when you cross the fence at a gate go right on the single track marked 'Saddle trail'. After a short climb and desent you 't' with the red dirt tail go left and scream down to hwy 129 turn left and ride back to town.
