Summary:
Not too difficult - some challenges are thrown in here and there to make this trail interesting. Sorta a surprise find, and it's a fun intermediate ride. Get map and info at Cascade Bikes in downtown Montrose.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Dry Creek and Aspen - both off Hwy 90 and near Buck. Can make a 16-18 loop with the combination of all three.

Ridden Once

Summary:
Rider Type: Local Map suggests/recommends experienced riders, however a novice rider could handle most sections easily. I would not recommend a novice rider alone... Trail Info: Nice trail if ridden in clockwise direction which puts majority of downhill sections along difficult single track. Balance of uphill is along hwy 90. Plan on a 1-1/2 to 2 hour ride. Single track is constantly switching directions with many detours due to fallen aspen trees. Although not recommended, while riding this trail alone for the first time, I didn't encounter another biker along the entire route... Best time to ride late spring/early fall.

Recommended Route:
Park opposite of Guard Station along highway 90. Ride approx. 1 mile up hwy 90, then enter trail on right along 4wd fire road. Watch for recent logging. Single track begins appprox. 1/2 mile from hwy 90. Follow single track for several miles traversing several creek crossings and detours to final up hill section along Boundary Fence which turns into 4wd fire road for final 1/2 mile or so until reaching hwy 90 then continue back up hwy 90 to parking area.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
At least a dozen other trails in the vicinity. Check with a local bike shop for Maps or other info.
