Summary:
18 mile loop on dirt roads, abandoned railroad grades, and high alpine singletrack with some cool Colorado mining history thrown in for good measure. Not quite as good as Monach Crest but a lot less people.

Recommended Route:
Start a couple hundred yards east of St. Elmo (up the road from Mt. Princeton hot springs, south of BV) at the junction of CR 162 and the road to Hancock. There's a big pullout with restrooms to park at. Ride up the road to Hancock about 6 miles (heading south). Go west up the old Alpine Tunnel railroad grade then up a steep hill on the CDT (go extra 1/10 mile to check out the collapsed entrance to Alpine Tunnel then head back to CDT). Follow to Tunnel Lake on great alpine singletrack and down newly made smooth trail through forest to Tincup Pass road. Continue downhill to St. Elmo and car.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Colorado Trail, Mt Princeton section is much smoother than Mt. Antero/Shavano section. Monarch Crest. Rainbow Trail.
