The guide lists this trail as 15-20 mile out and back (depending on starting location). However the trail continues beyond that and hooks up to a number of Jeep Roads as well. This mneans endless hours of exploration! Just bring lots of water and don't get lost.

Summary:
Far less crowded than Fruita or Loma complexes but very fun. I did it as an out and back. Some great climbs and views. The longer you go the more difficult it gets it seemed to me. Only negative is that the trails get a lot of ATV and dirt bike action. There are a lot of cool trails in Rabbit Valley.

Recommended Route:
I-70 west to Rabbit Valley, south at exit 2 and hop on trail 2

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Rabbit Valley trails 3-5, though 3 is very short. Mary's loop, horsethief, Steve's loop, rustlers, prime cut, chutes and ladders, and joe's ridge

Summary:
I cannot believe that this trail is not any more popular (and maybe it's better this way), but after a week of morning and afternoon rides at Fruita and Moab, this trail stands out. Really!!
Great views, great terain, great rock ledges playground... I'll be back to this one whenever anywhere near the area!
I've given 5 stars to other trails and wish could distinguish this one with 6 stars.
(just make sure you get to the singletrack on the ridge.. which goes forever...) we missed it at first and added 3 miles of nasty rutted dirt bikes trail

Recommended Route:
From the Rabit area parking (along the #2)

Summary:
Amazing amazing ride. This one was recommened to me by the people at the Fruita bike shop. They told me this one had the best views of all the 'canyon' rides nearby, and I was not dissapointed. Best part was that I rode this on a Saturday this May, and not a single other rider!? This is crazy because the Mack and Loma lots are always crowded. First part of this this is on trail#2 parallelling the Kokopelli. It's pretty torn up due to dirt bikes it seems. Some nice jumps though. After a while, it really smooths out, and when you get on the actual rim trail itself, complete zen. Best views I've seen of any trail in the area. Will do this one many more times to come. I did the 20 mile loop option; the sun was really starting to beat down on me during the stretch run, but still worth it. ~4 hour ride

Recommended Route:
Follow the Fruita Fat Tire Guide from Over the Edge Sports. It's basically Route#2 off the Rabbit Valley Kokopelli trail, until you hit the Western Rim.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Chutes, Joe's, Mary's w/Horsetheif Loop, etc, etc, etc...
