Weekend Warrior Summary: NOT JUST FOR BEINNERS SOME TRAILS WILL CHALLENGE THE BEST OF THE BEST
Well... I think this web site is one of the most accurate places to get reviews for trails and products, but the original summary of this bike park does it almost no justice..... there is not just the galloping goose run (very easy) but many other runs for all skill levels.... many of withc are far from "beginner." Telluride is a great plan and so are the people in it..... they dont mind if you use any of the dry ski slopes to find a fast thrilling ride down on some of the double bllacks (for the more advanced ask someone how you can get to the "spiral stairs" ski run if you want some thrills.... dont make the mistake of riding it hardtail like I did the first time) The gondola up is a very scenic ride and there are many trails that start at the top of the mountain.... you will be given a trail map and wont even have to ask like i said the people are great.... I highly suggest these trails for anyone from a beginner to a pro downhiller.... it alone is alwayse worth my annual biking trip to the west slope of colorado
My 5 on technical difficulyt is only for the hardest of um' these well kept runs would range from a one to a five Recommended Route: do um' all but get off the beten rode and have some fun do your best to find the "spiral stairs" ski run Other recommended trails in the same area: Imogene run..... 5 hours will take you to keystone

Cross Country Rider Summary: I have always parked in town and rode the bike path to the gas station at the Mtn. Villiage exit. The gondola sounds cool too. Anyway, from the gas station (lower paved road) follow the goose detour signs to the "trail head". It is fun to ride down some singletrack at the begining! Get to the dirt road and trun right then turn left before the camp and "enjoy?" the dirt road for about 3 miles to the upper trailhead (to the left, easy to find). This is where the real ride starts. The upper portion of the singletrck is great alpine riding, views galore! The upper trail is very well marked, makes riding the first time easy. After the box culvert you are pretty much there. Beginers can bomb down the road, others can giggle the whole way down. The lower singletrack is not too much of a slog to get back up. Take water and food, this is about a 30 mile loop from town and back Recommended Route: Pick your poison

Reviewed by: MTB Chik Summary: Take the Gondola from town to the Mountain Village. Follow Mtn. Village Blvd. towards the Peaks hotel keeping the golf course on your left. About 100 yards from the first tee, look for a trail on your right. Bear left onto the Jurassic trail (don't go down, you'll just end up in town again.) Follow this short but sweet singletrack until it hits a dirt road. Turn right and follow the road a short distance until it hits pavement and turn right. Follow this road for about 1/4 mile and look for the next piece of singletrack on your right. (Lawson Hill Trail) Follow this trail until it intersects with pavement. MAKE SURE YOU STOP! There is a blind corner and drivers come blazin' around this puppy. Cross the highway and through the gate. Take an immediate right and follow this singletrack (the beginning of the Goose) through the housing development down, and down, and down. You will hit Illium Valley road. You can shuttle it back to town from here or take a right and follow the dirt road until you see a bridge on your left. Cross the bridge and stay on the road and start climbing. You will climb on the dirt road until you see a trail on your left (Forest Service Closed road - about 7 total miles.) More sweet singletrack. Stay on the trail through private areas until you hit the highway again. You can a)continue on up to Lizard Head Pass by crossing the road, b)Have a shuttle with cold brewskis waiting for you, c)head left on the pavement and ride pavement back to T'ride or d)ride the pavement a short distance then drop down the dirt road toward Ophir and head back to where the down, down, down singletrack dumped you out on the paved road. Better yet, turn around and ride the singletrack back again. :) Recommended Route: Mtn. Village to Illium to Ophir and back. Other recommended trails in the same area: Deep Creek, Imogene Pass
