, from Grand Junction Summary: Enjoy impeccable views! You will be surrounded by one "14er" and many other peaks exceeding 13,500 feet. If you did the lung searing climb up the Camp Bird Road, you will be treated to a very fine descent. Now for some nagging. Take rain gear, avoid being above treeline in a thunderstorm (they build frequently and quickly), be prepared to share the road with many types of off road vehicles, and stay off the tundra when above treeline (this place is being loved to death). Recommended Route: Ride the route listed in the description, or, ride to the Imogene Pass Road and climb to the pass at about 13,000 feet. You will breath hard!! From here, you can drop down into Telluride. Other recommended trails in the same area: Any of the four wheel drive routes. If you are an altitude rider this is your place.
