Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Fort Collins Summary: High elevation, low useage, fast and tight, good riding for intermediate to expert riders. It is about an hour drive from Fort Collins but worth it. It is nice to have some tight, loomy dirt trails as a change from the loose, rocky trails at the lower elevations. Recommended Route: Take the service road from the lodge and follow it until it ends at some singletrack. Take this singletrack up into a burned out logging area. Follow this road until you reach a gate. Just past this gate is the main gravel road that goes up behind the lodge. Now turn around and bomb this fast, open downhill. When you get back to the singletrack, take a right and explore the miles of fun singletrack trails.

, from Ft. C Summary: These trails are really fun (most of the time) and there are rides for all skill levels. The last time I went, it had rained the day before and the trails were wonderfully tacky and made for great riding. However, during dry spells these trails can get a bit on the sandy side. I love this place because you can go there on a Saturday afternoon (when Horsetooth and Hewlett's would be packed) and see nary a soul. Just watch out for horse piles on the busier trails. Also, they no longer charge a fee to ride the trails. Pretty cool place! Recommended Route: Doesn't matter--get a map and go!
