Cross Country Rider Summary: There's a veritable spider's web of trails here and it's a lot fun and a GREAT place to take first-timers. A lot of the terrain has become a bit sandy - enough to be a bit of a buzz-kill but it's still a fantastic place to turn people on to the sport. Make sure to find your way to "The Car Wash", which is a section where the aspen trees form a tunnel that you ride through - very cool. Recommended Route: This is a web of trails where only the truely OCD rider would stick to a "route". Just get on your bike and ride. The easiest trails seem to be on the south end. Other recommended trails in the same area: Another great beginner's ride is Mud Lake. For more advanced riders, Walker Ranch is easily one of the best rides in Colorado.

Downhiller Summary: There is some nice singletrack at the bottom, and east of the highway. Beware of private property, dirt bikes have gotten on the previously unlabeled singletrack and Eldora cross country trails and f-ed it up for the rest of us. Some really nice fs roads were closed, and NO access is allowed up to the top of Tenessee Mtn to connect to Eldora and Jenny Creek.
The aerobic difficulty is a 2 staying on the labeled singletrack, but a 5 if you go up the mountain... Recommended Route: They just posted maps of the area at all trailheads. Lots of mtb made singletrack is now labeled, and signs posted not allowing motorized vehicles on them. They used to be underground, I thought of them as a nice warm-up to climbing up to Eldora. You can probably hit all the legal singletrack in West Mag in an hour or two... Other recommended trails in the same area: East Mag, Sourdough

Cross Country Rider Summary: West Magnolia is a great series of trails that starts from Magnolia east of Peak to Peak Hiway and runs along the road, crossing the hiway, and then down into the National Forest. Once down there, lots of possibilities exist that put you all over the area. I believe there are ridge top trails that eventually drop you behind Nederland HS, the last time I tried it, there were still snow drifts up top. Some old trials ramps and drops that need work can be found. Also an interesting series of trails that we call the Blair Witch Trials, winding s turns that really go nowhere. Great place to ride, you can easily do 3-4 hours (75% singletrack) or riding an not see the same stuff. We use this as our night riding area when we are getting ready for 24 hours of moab. Recommended Route: Magnolia east of Peak to Peak. Ride the loop around the small hill and head west into West Magnolia. Follow some of the ridges, great drops, and get lost. Other recommended trails in the same area: Sourdough for sure, Jamestown stuff, Bettaso from the bottom, Walker
