Dirt road up. Then tight twisty and rocky single track on the way down. Trail splits off at the park and there are a number of variations for getting back to town. This park boasts lots of short trails that work great in a circuit. The park has seen mtb races in recent years. I havn''t done this one in a few years but it should be open still. This area has some of the best and single track around. Watch out for mtn lions though. They are seen quit frequently in this area. Bring a freind for safety.

Trail Directions
Ride up Mtn herman road for 3 miles then head down the trail to your left. Very fun. Did it on a hardtail last time I was there. Wonder how much nicer FS would be. Especially a good trailbike. For another ride Head up Mt herman road a few more miles to access Limbaugh canyon.

There are a bout 30 miles of trail in this thousand acre area ranging in difficulty from easy and entry level to "stoopid" and most everything in between .(loots of great singlespeed stuff! The trails have seen more increased traffic and are very defined .. no signs but very easy to find your way around. there is a group"friends of Monument Preseerve" actively maintaining these trails.. and maps available at Balanced rock bike and ski in Monument

Recommended Route:
Just explore from parking lot on Mt hereman rd. and schilling
