Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is awesome for almost anything you can dream up. there are some pretty hard climbs, and some parts are technical aand really rocky, but most parts are fast and fun. the downhills have water bars that you can jump and get pretty good air on them. Recommended Route: Go all the way to the top, Bergen Peak. Then down Too Long trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: Evergreen Mountain, it is across the street from 3 sisters upper parking lot.

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a well known Front Range trail so I was surprised to not see it in the trail reviews, but I'll happily be the first. I've been seeking out some popular rides in the area lately that I've ignored. I won't ignore this one again.
The lower section is pretty tame but appropriate for beginner riders. There are some fun sections for all on the lower trails, but this is where the crowds are so be careful of other trail users. What makes the trip is the climb up Bergen Mountain.
I took Too Long Trail most of the way up, which connects with Bergen Peak Trail, and continues to the top. Bergen Peak Trail would be a fine way to the top as well. The climb is a typical Front Range concoction consisting of well worn singletrack with lots of switchbacks and some more technical rock and waterbar sections. It's all rideable, but I took my fair share of dabs on the climb. Although a long climb (rougly 3 1/2 miles), it never gets too steep so you can pound it out with a nice steady pace.
The top of the climb offers great views of the Evergreen Valley area, Denver, Mt. Evans, Longs, and the Continental Divide. Definitely picture worthy if you brought the camera. The only thing more fun than the climb up is the ride down. Enjoy.
I'd probably give it 3 1/2 stars if I could, but I'm feeling generous so I'm rounding up. My only complaint is the small portions. Besides the climb up Bergen, there's not much more to do. But when you only have a half day and it's hot in Denver, this is a great ride. Recommended Route: I rode from the southern parking lot to Meadow View. Meadow View to Long Trail. Long Trail to Bergen Peak Trail to the top and back down Bergen Peak Trail to Meadow. For the cooldown: Meadow Trail to Elk Ridge to Sleepy S, back to Meadow via Painter's View. and back to the parking lot. Other recommended trails in the same area: Three Sisters
