Cross Country Rider Summary: There has been some recent trail maintenence on the Boulder Canyon Link trail. It is really best to ride to this trail by taking the Boulder Creek trail from town and then riding the rode for a 1.5 miles. A warm-up of some sort is necessary. Beginning climbing up some well maintained loose dirt. Once you turn the corner it will get flat but then begin climbing again up a very loose rocky technical section (Most people will dismount). Push your bike up to the next flat section. The trail will begin climbing at a slightly easier grade on hard packed dirt. Tight Trees, roots and rocks will meet you while you're grinding up the trail. Be proud when you make it to the Whoopty-doo but begin climbing up switch backs with some tight sections. When you make it to the road, cross over and climb up to the Betasso Loop. Betasso is closed to Mtn. bikes on Saturday and Wednesday but not the link. This is definetly the hardest climb in Boulder County. Advanced riders will do it with one walk. If you can clear the entire link you are a Mtn. biking God! Be careful on the downhill, especially at the straight aways at the end. Your speed picks up quite quickly and it is easy to get out of control. Recommended Route: From Ebin G. Fine park ride the Boulder creek trail to the end. Climb up to the Highway 119 and ride for another 1.5 miles to the Boulder Canyon Link right before the first tunnel.
