Winding singletrack. Serveral stream crossings (20+ was too busy to count).

Summary:
This is one of our favorite trails in the area. It's great in the spring when the water is running high and the creek crossings are deep. Few things bring more joy then watching your buddy fall sideways off his bike into a freezing cold creek!! (Try not to laugh too hard, cause your turn will come quick :)
It's a gradual climb for about 7 miles to the end of the trail with quite a few technical challenges along the way. You also get a good mix of smooth single track, which makes the return ride very fast and very fun.
This trail is a great time, but it's no joke. Out of all the trail systems in northern Colorado, this one has cost me the most damage to my bike and myself. But for some reason I just can't seem to stay away!

Recommended Route:
Straight shot in, straight shot out.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bobcat Ridge, Horsetooth Mountain, Devil's Backbone

Summary:
Unless you like to walk your bike, I don't recommend this trail. There are tons of rocky (unrideable) sections. Lots of stream crossings. I felt like I was riding in a stream bed the entire ride. I didn't make it to the end of the trail, but as far as I rode in (a good 30min+), I did not enjoy this trail. Also, there's lots of people traffic here (dog walkers, hikers, etc.).

Recommended Route:
Something else.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Hewlett's Gulch is so much better than this. Go there instead. Or ride the trails around Fort Collins.

Summary:
Nice trail with lots of stream crossings and good technical areas. Will likely make this part of the routine set of trails I ride. Not sure how the first reviewer got 20 miles unless he did it twice as our party all had around 10 miles on the cyclometer.

Summary:
I just rode this trailfor the first time today. Mid-January temperatures have frozen the stream crossings solid, but apparently others have been riding the trail as well lately as the ice was brown and gritty with lots of tire tracks, adding enough grip to cross the otherwise glassy, sketchy ice with confidence and speed. The overall rhythm of the trail is nice too. The bottom is a little boring, but after about a half mile or so in you start to make some river crossings and soon enough short rocky sections. What is nice and relatively unique about this trail though is that the rocky sections are quite challenging, but short and the trail between is generally smooth, dusty singletrack where you have planty of time to catch your breath before the next push over ledge and loose river rock.

Recommended Route:
Up and down. As stated earlier there are some great "problems" on this trail where you and some buddies could easily spend an afternoon or even a full day solving.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I have no idea...

Summary:
Awesome area to go biking. Three-quarters of the ride up was great. lots of scattered rocks, fun river crossings. The last mile and a half is boring besides the scenery. Just like it says nothing to look at when you get to the turn around point. Fun coming down. Good ride for those people wanting to get into a little more serious ride than high groomed hiking trails. Look for mile marker 109 up the Poudre and you've found it on your left.
