Trail Directions
Exit I-70 at Glenwood. Head north to forst light. Make a left. Continue 1/2 mile to Travers Trail and turn right. Continue 1/2 mile and turn right on the Transfer Trail. I like to go up a 1/4 mile and park onleft under some trees. It's now about 3 miles of gravel road to a saddle with a parking area. Continue till you see a steel plate sign by the 4-wheelers club. There are 4 roads diverging there. Take the second from the right, now on double track. Ride 1/3 of a mile to an intersection. Take a sharp left and climb and climb etc.. You will come out on top of the Flat Tops and run into the other half the loop (if you had taken the far right afore mentioned option. It's F.R. 602 descend back to the care.

Summary:
I started riding this trail when I first got into mountain biking. It is an awesome experience. There are fast downhills, plenty of stretch your lungs and crank, rough technical descents and take it easy with gorgeous scenary sections. It takes about 4-5 hours to complete the trail starting at the top of 602 down into Glenwood Springs. Take plenty of water, some food for fuel and tool kit. A topo map and compass help also if you don't know the area. A camera is also good to have for the awesome scenary.
