Cross Country Rider Summary: This area is indeed opening up to mountain bikers. New trails opened by the City of Boulder access Doudy Draw, Springbrook trail, Rattlesnake Gulch and trails without names...you find the route with loops galore to be explored. Enjoy Boulder! Recommended Route: Park at Marshall Mesa trailhead. Ride up Marshall Mesa to Community Ditch. Enjoy first vista of Flatirons (on sunny days wear sunglasses). Take left at bridge and cross over up techno section to Greenbelt Plateau. Ride singletrack along road to HWY 93 and 128th. Cross HWY 93 at trail crossing and ride up North Flatiron Vista. Enjoy second vista of Flatirons (hence trail's name). Enter gate to Doudy Draw and drop in with breathtaking views into the valley below. Take left at sign to Spring Brook Loop and second left onto Spring Brook Loop South. From here the exploring begins. Trials connect to Fowler Trail (off limits to bikes--BOO!) and down to HWY 67 for an extension into Eldorado Canyon and Rattlesnake Gulch (accessable to bikes --YEA!). Take Sping Brook Loop North to complete the ride back to Doudy Draw and Community Ditch. Enjoy the cruiser downhill back to Marshall Mesa Trailhead. Other recommended trails in the same area: Betasso, North Boulder Trails, Heil-Picture Rock-Hall, Walker Ranch (please lobby for connector trail to be opened to MTBs between Eldo and Walker), Ceran St. Vrain and NED!!!

Weekend Warrior Summary: I rode this for the first time today, I think there are a few things going on here.
1. There has recently (within the last two years) an expansion that has not been properly addressed
2. Boulder has typically very poor mountain bike access within riding distance from town. Bettasso is limited and short at best, Walker Ranch will get you killed riding up flagstaff with all the tourists, Heil is a hike, ect.
I found the trails to fairly easy, but enjoyable. The scenary was great, I even got to chase a few cows off the singletrack. When was the last time you go to do that? So, with respect to earlier reviews, its a changed trail. Its more than the lame community ditch. Recommended Route: Parking lot, head right (North) and loop around. Play on the rocks. Other recommended trails in the same area: White ranch, Walker, Hall

Cross Country Rider Summary: Just wanted to add the reviews here don't do this place justice. Sure, CO has many other great places to ride but this area is one of the best training areas if you live/work close and need to put in a quick 20. Cyclo-cross training here would be ideal. Marshall Mesa doesn't give you a break from pedaling much which means you have to exhert more power and burn more calories. Plus, there is some nice singletrack here too. Just change your mindset from the "climb for 40 minutes and bomb back down" front range riding to a continuous leg strain. I think I get my best workouts at Marshall Mesa. Recommended Route: Start at the Coalton trail off McCaslin ride up the wide gravel trail/fireroad. Go through the gate and enjoy the singletrack for a few miles...Ride all over MM. I like the out and back on Cowdrey draw which it seems most avoid for some reason. Ride back to your car for a quick 18 to 20 miles. Ride it at night too!! Park curfew is 6am to 10pm unlike most trails with a dusk til dawn curfew. Other recommended trails in the same area: endless possibilities but I think I like Centennial Cone and Hall Ranch best...Heil Ranch has started to grow on me with the new Wild Turkey trail and Hall and Heil will become epic if they ever connect the two. Walker Ranch had the hardest uphill section to me when ridden counter-clockwise. Mt. Falcon, Chimney Gulch/Apex, Rattlesnake Gulch are all pretty easy if you're fit. Aldefer's Three Sisters is good starting at the Deddise trail by the golf course. I've been here six month's and love CO!!!

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is not a destination for any serious mtb action. Only useful as a non-road option to get to Community Ditch. Recommended Route: For those in Louisville, Lafayette or Superior area, take Marshall Road to the trail. climb this quick easy section. Cross 93 to the Community Ditch. Ride into Eldorado Canyon and climb the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail. Makes for a nice Sunday ride if you don't feel like driving somewhere else. Other recommended trails in the same area: Walker Ranch, Hall Ranch or anything in Golden

, from Boulder CO Summary: Just wanted to say I hike, I bike, I own a dog, sometimes I bring my dog on hikes and rides - and can't we all just get along? I've read all these reviews and it seems like most bikers have the wrong attitude. I mean, what - you don't hike? And even if you don't, what the heck? Hikers and dogs have just as much right to use the trails (and use them safely) as bikers do. We bikers need to realize that hikers and people with dogs have a right to expect us to be courteous since they will get hurt badly when we dont. We all have the right to enjoy the outdoors and the trails the way we want to enjoy them (as long as our enjoyment doesn't impede on the other guys). Mt biking, hiking, and owning dogs are not mutually exclusive! Recommended Route: Add in the Community ditch trail for a good beginner ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: Heil Ranch, Bettasso, Switzerland Trail, Sourdough, Walker, wherever
