Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from colorado springs Summary: This ride will leave you tired. Gold camp road is a boring section: it's hot, dry, and pretty bleak after you've ridden its entirety several times, so you might want to take st. martys trail so you can skip most of gold camp. carry a map. be ready for loose conditions, especially on the downhill. Recommended Route: Start at your house. ride up cheyenne blvd to the chutes. Ride up gold camp road to the turn-off by rosemont resevior, go up that till you see the trail sign with the map on it. blast down the trails (don't worry too much about getting lost; most of the trails funnel back together). Other recommended trails in the same area: Try 'em all

, from Boone, NC Summary: I drove solo road trip out West in the summer of 2000. I was recommended in Colorado Springs to check out Cheyenne Canyon. I started at the bottom at 7 a.m. Hiked with my bike on my back on some real steep trail. Ended up 8 hours later on top of Pike's Peak. Camped on top of "Microwave Towers" in my bivy sac. Got real cold and rode down Captain Jack's, ending it at night. What can I say?-- THE RIDE OF MY LIFE!!! I laughed out loud descending big-ring style through Alpine singletrack for about 14 miles... incredible!!! 8 hours up, 1 hour down. Liked it so much, I'm leaving next week to do it all again (7/20). AWESOME!!! The best trail in my 2 week CO/UT tour, matter of fact, this is the best trail I have ever ridden. Yep. Recommended Route: ? Other recommended trails in the same area: Palmer Park in Colorado Springs was pretty fun for a technical 2-3 hour ride.

, from Colorado Springs Summary: I rode this trail in the fall of 2000. It was a great downhil, but it puts you a long way from help if you get hurt, or break a part. The trail is a ton of fun and about a 2.5 hour downhill. I recomend taking someone who has ridden this trail before on your fisrt descent. There are a number of forks where one could get lost. If you love a fun fast and technical single track you'll love this trail. Recommended Route: Either same as above, or drive to the top and shuttle back up to the car at the end of the ride. To drive it, take old stage road up hill from the broadmoore area and park at the north side of rosemont resevoir. Then ride up jeep trail #668 from there.
