Summary:
I run various segments of this trail alot. There are some tight spots where cyclist need to be alert of runners..and visa-versa. I have written a 8 page history article on the trail, alot of little known history of the communities long gone. I am happy to email it to users of the trail...preserve history and learn.

Summary:
An easy, non technical ride. The south end can be pretty fun. There are nice rolling hills you can get some speed on. From Palmer Lake to Baptist road is very, very flat and monotonous. It's nice to ride once to encounter the history behind this trail. Overall, this trail is a great first ride of the season to get your legs back. Or, ride the south end if you want a change from all the technical stuff at Palmer and Ute.

Recommended Route:
I-25 and Woodmen as far as you want. This trail ends in Palmer Lake. I've done this ride in both directions. The area from Woodmen through the Academy is a lot more fun than the rest of it. I still ride from Woodmen through the Academy and back from time to time.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Palmer Park, Ute Park, Rampart Reservoir

Summary:
Non-Technical easy trail. As you head north, you are always heading uphill. Plan on spending 3/4 of your time heading north since you can come back so quickly. This trail will go all the way to Palmer Lake. Its a nice scenic ride all the way to Palmer Lake. Round Trip about 36 miles. Good to get your legs back in shape, but no skill required. Watch out for the horse crap. Once you head north about 7 miles, the people thin out.

Recommended Route:
Start at the trail head at woodmen and I-25 and head north.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Palmer Park.
