Weekend Warrior Summary: This was my first time to ride this trail. The weather was horrible, sustained winds of 30+ mph. I was visiting so I had to ride. The climb was steep but do able. It was very packed so it was not as rocky as it could be in the summer. The back side of the first ridge was fun with some technical sections and then the stairs. The valley and loop to blue sky add some interesting rocky challenges. This is a trail where familiarity goes a long way. It was a fun ride but did not provide much room for error on the rocky sections. Once a week or every other week is as frequent as I would ride this trail. The trail is some what short so tying into Blue Sky or Devils Backbone may help add some riding time and mileage. Recommended Route: Just ride it. The loop at the end is most likely easiest in the clockwise direction. Other recommended trails in the same area: No idea, I am not from the area.

Weekend Warrior Summary: It appears from the overlook at the western most point of the small loop that they're building an extension to the Coyote Ridge trail (towards Horsetooth/Lory). Anyone know where to find details of the extension schedule, map, etc.?

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is a lot of fun. Tough (but not impossible) climb and fun back side. It is a great training ride - ride to it from town (Ft. Collins or Loveland) and do the climb a couple times or the back loop a couple times. It isn't the most technical trail, but it will keep your attention. The back loop is tough and technically challenging, I have cleared everything once, but never all in one ride.
Also I do not know about the rattlesnake warnings. I have rode Coyote probably 60 times and never saw/heard one.
Like others have said there are horses and hikers on the trail (no dogs allowed) so please be nice and respectful of others and ride under control. Please do not ride on the trail while it is muddy or snowy. The horse tear it up pretty bad and we do not need to contribute to the impact of the trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: Devil's Backbone (LOveland), Horsetooth Mountain, the 3 gulch trails (Hewlett, Young and Dadd's) up the Poudre.

Cross Country Rider Summary: This was a pretty tough trail most up hill and lots of loss rocks and sand. If you don’t ride that much and/or don’t have a suspension on you bike this will be a real challenge. Trail does offer some great views. And look out for the horse SH*T! Recommended Route: same as posted Other recommended trails in the same area: check'em all out.

Cross Country Rider
, from Loveland US Summary: After reading the other post on here for the trail I decided to go out and give it run. The description of fire road to single track with a few technical climbs involved is accurate. I would second the rattlesnake warning but would add that at dusk keep an eye out for deer jumping the downhill part of the trail. The trail is an absolute blast to ride with a great mix of rock, clay, climbs and downhill. One side note, 2.5 tires with low pressure are the way to go for the return loop. I used all the travel on my bike as well.--5"front and rear.
