Weekend Warrior Summary: I love this trail. It was actually built in the early 1900's a railroad. Argentine Pass goes over 13,000 feet and it is beautiful at the top - - amazing views. There's nothing technical about it, except the fact that you approach the speed of sound as you descend, and you really have to be in your toes, because a fall at those speeds would be real bad. Try having someone drive you to to the top and ride down.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Nice ride with great views and old mines. Some 4x4 traffic, but not too bad. Bombed down some fun side roads, but dead-ended in creek bed, ended up climbing back up the same way down. Recommended Route: Find route from Silver Plume.

, from Dillon Summary: Dillon to the trailhead is all gradual and a great warmup for a long day. This is the other side of the pass that no-one has reviewed, probably because its pretty much un-ride-able.Although Stan has rode down it.The bottom of the pass is rideable, but not the long straitaway to the summit{map}. Duck tape and foam rubber protecting the cleats make for an intresting 1 hour hike.A few short stints in the saddle on short flat spots make the darn bike handy. Like they say in the other reviews the downhill is great.Good colours in the fall.Go Straight{ha}at a major switchback to get to Silverplume{map},Gotta go that way. So here`s 9200Ft.again.Since we havent really done any serious riding yet, take the hard way home.Pavement to bakerville{3mi},dirt bike trail to Loveland ski area{3more}. Over the tunnel.Ski area service road.Take a right at a fork or bushwhack. The road does not gain the ridge so you`ll have to walk a little at the top.You want to be far north of the chairlift that gains the ridge.Look for a trail down the other side that goes down to the north, not hard to spot. Here`s another 10 mile downhill Back to Dillon,O-boy.
Recommended Route: Big loop,63 miles.Dillon to Dillon.11hrs.9200ft.to 13,000ft,twice.Dillon to Peru creek to Argentine trailhead to pass to Silverplume to the top of Loveland ski area to Dillon.Gnarly. Other recommended trails in the same area: Ski area service road.Any.

, from Boulder Summary: This is quite an easy ride, except for the alpine part. Don't attempt when the weather is bad and try to be done by 2. A strong rider can make it to the top of Mt. McClellan and back in about 4 hours. Recommended Route: Start in SilverPlume to get the psuedo - single track in the first 5 miles.
