Cross Country Rider Summary: Excellent trail system! The trails were clearly marked and in good condition. A few techical parts, but for the most part, it was a fun easy ride! I was very surprised because you don't hear much about this trail compared to Ben Geren and Springhill Park, but it was just as fun to me as either of those two trails. Recommended Route: The route I took started at the wooden steps in the parking lot. I got to a Y in the trail and took a right. At the bottom of the hill, I went straight instead of crossing the creek (Creek was on left hand side). At that time the trail goes up a hill (challenging, but not too hard). It winds around and comes to the bluffs that have been mentioned before. It then winds back around to the creek where I crossed to the homestead trail. I kept to the right on the homestead trail which ended back at the creek. After crossing the creek again, I went back up the original trail that I started on and this time, turned onto the other trail that connects at the Y that I originally turned right on. It eventually loops back to the parking lot after going to some awesome overlooks. Other recommended trails in the same area: Ben Geren Park
Springhill Park
Devils Den State Park

Cross Country Rider Summary: As has been said for a very long period of time this trail is an amazing trail in need of alot of work, well today we started alot of work on the lower sections also known as the "homestead trail" for the greatest portion of the trail it is all open and free of loose debris. The greatest thing this trail needs is to be ridden. At this date and time there still continues to be alot of leaves on the trail, it would be a fools journey to clean leaves from the trail today due to all the remaining leaves yet to fall, but soon we will have all the leaves removed from the trails. For the most part the trails are still visible as we walked the entire trail today. The best way to ride this trail in our opinion is to enter from the wooden steps near the parking lot take the trail til the first "Y" stay right and drop down a short drop down to a rocky creek bed stay parallel with the creek bed and stay on the trail up to the rock bluffs which will stay on your left the trail will then turn back to the left following along side an old wire fence you will soon come up on a large crevis in the earth(worth a stop and look) the trail will continue back down the hill side once you reach the bottom you will find yourself right back at the creek bed you first rode parallel too but this time ride straight across and you will see a double directional sign that states Homestead trail at this point stay straight dont turn left due to a very very steep hill you will have to climb and its very technical and close to the edge of a bluff, continuing straight after the creek you will find yourself on what likes like and atv rode continue all the way to the top and turn a hard left up a steep hill to get on the single track trail this will take you out to a large powerline fire break at this clearing turn right and go down the fire line and look on you left for the entrance for the back loop once you see it take it for a long distace till it comes out back at the top side of the same fire line once you come back out on the fire line you will continue straight down an atv rode for a very short distance and on your right you will see where the trail drops back in and you will come up to the same techincal section you were warned not to go up, once you get down this be sure to look for the tree that looks just like a camel wearing a crown! You will return to the creek from here. Recommended Route: See Above, We hope soon with all riders help all trails will be ride ready again, we need your help, just get out and ride and be safe Always wear a helmet!!!! Other recommended trails in the same area: Spring Hill Park, Ben Geren Park

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail was a big disappointment. It has received so little maintenance and attention that the trail would literally disappear at times. One trail the Homestead, literally stopped after a blown down tree had blocked it. Apparently it had been there for so long that the other hikers and bikers just stopped riding the remaining trail.
This area would be well served by an organized club to create and maintain trails - Any body out there? Recommended Route: Forget about it. Other recommended trails in the same area: Womble, Leatherwood, fossil flats

Weekend Warrior Summary: if you take the route near the steps you find a lot of rooty rocky high speed fun. there's also a creek further out and some cavish stuff. don't fall off the side.
you can also turn your bike back the direction you came in and ride until you see a hiking trail on the right. follow this trail. its pretty grown up but if you follow the hiker signs you'll come to a rocky bluff overlooking woods and the reservoir. very nice view. the trail may go farther, but about this time i noticed that i had two flat tires, so i turned around. Recommended Route: the route with the steps is lots of fun. if you have time, do both routes Other recommended trails in the same area: fiana hills

Weekend Warrior Summary: I do not ride a bike on this trail, but enjoy a nice little hike. The trail has many historical features, one being the site of a Civil War battle between Confederate Infantry and Union Horse Soldiers. The Southern Forces were retreating from Pea Ridge,Arkansas trying to get reinforcments to Van Buren, The Battlement walls are still visiable and some of the Grave sites are of Soldier of both sides, Buried where they fell. The trail is nice for a family to go on an outing and easy for the children to keep up. I recommend Spring or fall as the best time. Summer time is Hot and Humid and makes it difficult to enjoy... Recommended Route: Homestead Trail is the best in my oppinion, it connects to every trail out there and if you lokk closely you will find all five cemetery sites through out the tril. (Becareful not to disturb the sites, some are hard to see if you do not know they are there) Other recommended trails in the same area: Ozark Highland Trail is close by, and if you get a bug to go for a good Ride or Hike find and old Forest Service Road, You never Know where they might lead......
