Average Rating:    (5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 2

Lake Ouachita Vista Trail is an un-surfaced hiking and mountain biking trail winding along the southern shore of Lake Ouachita. Being developed by volunteers in cooperation with the US Army Corps of Engineers and the US Forest Service

The trail rises 900 feet from the Denby trailhead to Hickory Nut Mountain. Hikers and bikers travel up, down and along mountain slopes through mixed hardwood and pine forest opening up at several places to breathtaking views of the lake. Beautiful displays of wildflowers await during spring and summer months.

Summary:
Fantastic trail start to finish, all top notch and challenging while being SS friendly. It has grown in length over the years. I think it might be up to around 30 miles in length now? It is supposed to intersect another trail on this trail listing (Charlton trail) though I have not rode that section yet.

Recommended Route:
Start at Denby point just off HWY 270. That would be a right turn off hwy 270 onto shangra la road and a quick left onto denby road. It dead ends into the lake, you are there. An out and back to here will be around 25 miles.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
If you come to Arkansas and ride Cedar Glades in Hotsprings then the Womble in Mt Ida do yourself a favor and ride this one in between Hotsprings and Mt Ida.
