Summary:
I really cannot review this trail as I am denied access to it in my venue, which is horseback. I am sure everyone else enjoys it very much, and find it sad that riders are denied the opportunity to do so.

1. This is a site to review mountain bike trails. You will find 0 sympathy here.

2. Horses are much more destructive to trails than hikers or mountain bikers and the damage and excrement they leave behind makes the experience a lot less pleasant for the other user groups.

If you want to ride trail around the Ouachita on your horse you should find some like minded people and work to build your own trail for that purpose. Also, unless you're paralyzed there's nothing stopping you from at least enjoying the trail by hiking or biking it. If you're too out of shape to do so then maybe you should get off the horse more often.

Summary:
I can only describe the sections from Denby TH to the Joplin TH. This is a beautiful trail to ride as most of it is right beside the lake. The trail surface is perfect mix of rock and hardpack. Good climbs followed by smooth, flowy, fast downhills all while blazing past pines and hardwoods with gorgeous lake views all around.

Recommended Route:
Either direction has good flow to it.

Summary:
This trail offers everything from lake shore views to views from Hickory Nut Mountain and has the climbs and downhill rides to keep riders breathless.
Bikers get to enjoy the Ouachita National Forest and with the occasional remnants of old stills can imagine the colorful history of the region.
Volunteers with the guidance and help of the US Army Corp and the Forest service have constructed the first 16 or so miles of the trail which is planned to go around Lake Ouachita.
Riding the trail is possible year round so pick the season you want and try it out.

Recommended Route:
If you start on Hickory Nut Mountain, save some energy to get back to the top.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Charlton, Cedar Glades, Blakely
