Cross Country Rider Summary: If you know the area there are 3-4 10-20 mile loops that are a blast. Sweet single track and great scenery. 50% open forest and county road riding, but very fast and fun. Lots of wires and gates limiting vehicle access can be used as land marks to help with orientation. No maps, but some marked horse routes on the south side Recommended Route: Must have a guide to get most out of area. If you use the Forum entrance on Highway 23. Turn right and head south on the first road. When you get in the valley head up creek and follow some of the marked trails until you get thouroughly confused and try to find your way back. Big features of the south side of the area are several obvious cave entrances and bluff shelters and the marked horse routes. Plus an excellent overlook of the King's River referred to as the Eagle's bluff.
If you use the Rockhouse entrance on the north side there is one rule. If you keep staying right you will stay on the ridges and end up on highway 23.the ridge road you will fall into Rockhouse creek. Lots of trails connecting the ridge and the valley. Valley trail is spotty. Good luck! NO marked trials. Features include lots of waterfalls including one spectacular one called "Kettle Falls". The north side is also host to and old race route called the "Gut Buster" Other recommended trails in the same area: Lake Leatherwood City Park
Red Star (Buffalo Headwaters)
Lost Bridge
Hobbs State Park Conservation Area
