Fun and steep. lots of Knarly dropins and steep climbs.
Summary: The trail is basically closed and non-existent. It was never much of a trail anyway, but an old road bed went through there over 50 years ago, and it hasn't all grown over with brush, trees, etc. just yet. There are still parts that are walkable, mostly from the Cliffs apartments, since the upper part closer to downtown has been posted No Trespassing. The landowners are slowly developing parts of the area also for homes, so it's pretty much toast now.
Recommended Route: Not recommended at all.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Lake Fayetteville is a much, much better ride, since it is maintained, much bigger (6+ miles), and very accessible, with lots of varied terrain for experienced and inexperienced bikers and hikers alike. A bike shop is at one of Lake Fayetteville trailheads also (at the northwest point by the ballfield), so you can get maintenance and accessories before or after you ride, and they also have free drinks.

Summary: This trail is quite good but not for beginners, i like it better than lake fayetteville. the first time you ride it, you will not like it, but once you find the "easiest" way up, you will enjoy it. very fun and very close to campus
Recommended Route: i think it's best to start at the bottom. go to the cliffs apartments, take 6th street east past college and take a left on happy hollow till that dead ends and park at the paved jogging trail enterance. go up the jogging trail about 100 yards, take a left. go down that trail about 200 yards then before you get to a red gate take a left onto the singletrack trail. the easiest way up is to take that trail then at the first split take a right. and continue to stay right after each split. once at the top, you can explore different ways down, there are about 9 different ways down.
Other recommended trails in the same area: fossil flats is great if you have time to make it out there, lake fayetteville is ok, but very busy.

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Summary: Lake Fayetteville is 20 times better. The trail isn't bad for hiking but it doesn't flow well for a bike and it's very short downhills which you have to turn around and hike back up. Every other trail I have ever ridden has been better than this for a mountain bike.
Recommended Route: Never go here
Other recommended trails in the same area: Lake Fayetteville

Ridden Trail: Every few months

Summary: The directions are a little fuzzy there in the original review. Take those directions, which lead to top of the mt. and there's loop drive around the mt called skyline drive. at the northmost corner of the mt on skyline, there's a radio or some sort of cable tv antantea, park there, go into woods by the chain link fence surrounding antantea. Grab your ankles becuase starts rough, down steep over railroad ties.
Recommended Route: There's little choice, just get in there and get smacked.
