Cross Country Rider Summary: if the trails were only used by bikers they would be great. however, watch out for dogs off leashes and glowering walkers. if you can make it to alsopp then you can make it to burns park or camp robinson, both superior. Other recommended trails in the same area: Camp Robinson
Burns Park

Racer Summary: Alsopp Park has a great little set of trails, esp for being smack dab in the middle of LR. Lots of ups and downs with some very fun tight twisty downhills. Not tons of trail, but definitely worth a visit. Recommended Route: Start by the tennis courts and ride the outer loop clockwise to the top. Then jump on Beechwood St. and ride over the 2nd park. Drop down by the staircase and do a complete clockwise loop, then climb back up the hill on Beechwood and hit the 1st park again finishing your loop on a sweet twisty downhill back to the tennis court parking lot. Other recommended trails in the same area: Camp Robinson, Burns Park, Boyle Park

Weekend Warrior Summary: As written by the last poster. Nice in-town place to ride during the week if not at CARP.

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is technical and rough. No shortage of rocks and roots. Allsopp is composed of short, steep climbs and descents. The park is actually split into two zones (east and west) separated by a residential area. The main trail (perimeter) begins behind the tennis courts near the park entrance and climbs to skirt the residential area above. Several sub-trails descend off the perimeter trail to access the rest of the east zone. Access to the west zone (1 mile loop) is accomplished by a quick two block jaunt through the residential area. There are several 'loops' that can be combined in various ways to make a ride as long (or short) as needed. I ride this trail system at least 3 days a week and have 6, 8, 9, and 10 mile favorites.
Park rules dictate that bikers yield to hiker/walkers, but reality is the other way around. This trail is a favorite for dog walkers too. Recommended Route: Perimeter trail, across residential area to west zone, 1 mile loop, back to east zone, first right off perimeter, cross first and second creeks, promenade loop, back across creek, first right and follow creek to park culdesac, hang right and climb paved trail to first foot bridge on left, take trail and stay right to baseball field. Repeat as necessary. Other recommended trails in the same area: Camp Robinson (Club Membership, DL, and up-to-date care insurance required)

Weekend Warrior Summary: I've only been on these trails once, but I had a great time. The trails are short, but there are enough options to keep busy for quite a while. It's a great ride without having to leave the area, perfect for after work!
