Ridden Trail: Once a week

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail was in great condition last year, but this year due to the excessive rain, sections of the trail is washed out. It's still very ride-able, however, I've noticed that the quality of the trail has gone down ever since the end of 2007. Because of how much it has rained and the excessive use of the trail for equestrian use, it's getting worse.
It's a good trail to ride, however, I hope some maintenance is done to it soon. This trail is great for getting in the middle of the woods with no one else around and has some great single track sections that are comparable to any trail I've ridden.
Also, the trail guide is a little confusing. Once you cross the creek (more like river when I rode it) and go through the pine cove section and get to the road, the trail continues on the direct opposite side of the road. This section has some nice rock gardens for almost a mile and then it drops down into the a riverbed for a good while and then you meet the road again (about 6.5 - 7.5 miles in). After that you cross the road again you will climb a small hill and then this is where it becomes impossible to dodge horse crap and the trail is pretty torn up by horses.
Hope that helps someone. Like I mentioned, I hope they do some maintenance to the trail or by next season more and more of the trail will be for horses only.

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail has come a long way. When I first started riding the trail, it could be described as a beginner trail. It was overgrown and not very technical. Now with the addition of several more miles of trail and a great clean up job by the OORC, Lake Wedington is one of the most fun trails in the NWA area. Once you pass County Road 849 and head up the hill for the second phase of the trail, you'll find yourself in for a very rocky, technical section. Great views as well. A highly recommended trail for anyone in the NWA area. Recommended Route: Start at the Roadside park on Hwy 16 and proceed up the trail passing county road 849 follow the trail all the way to where it eventually dead ends. You can either ride it back or take a dirt road back to Hwy 16. For a complete map, go to www.ozarkoffroadcyclist.com Other recommended trails in the same area: Lake Leatherwood
Kessler's
Dennis Moore's trail
Devil's Den

Weekend Warrior Summary: as previously stated, most of the reviews of this trail are out of date. OORC has done an excellent job of removing fallen trees from the trail and also bypassing some trouble spots with new trail sections. I ride this trail once a week and it is much more technical and enjoyable than Lake Fayetteville.
here is a gallery of some recent pics of the trail including a trail map

also the correct spelling is Lake Wedington, not Weddington
Other recommended trails in the same area: Dennis Moore's trail is another excellent local trail

Weekend Warrior Summary: The reviews of this trail are out dated. The trail has been reworked (I think by OORC) and they've done a good job. I went out after a day of hard rain, trying to find the fire road that goes from 16 to 412, but I ended up on the trail instead. The trail was NOT muddy after that rain, and it was a lot of fun. Kudos to whomever has reblazed it and cleaned it up.

Weekend Warrior Summary: The trail has been very affected by rain and no upkeep. But hey, if you want to cry and stomp your feet because you are upset a MOUNTIAN bike trail isn't a pretty highway, your a big wuss in my book.
I bike the trail nearly once a week-- I have never seen any other bikers on it. It really is a great trail, some parts extremely fun. Some really fun climbs, and some fun but quick downhills.
I basically think of it as an alternate and change of scenery to Lake Fayetteville (the ol’ quick and easy convenient mtb trail here in Fayetteville). It is more challenging-- especially if you are biking it hard and fast. It is also a GREAT option if you like to bike deep in pretty woods with no traffic.
Luckily, for those who have the weekend, we do have amazingly well kept trails like Lake Leatherwood- thanks to people like david rinco. Recommended Route: Park at the littel parking lot right past or at the boat loading ramp. From there just take off. It would be pretty hard to get lost. Other recommended trails in the same area: you MUST go to leatherwood. For a challange: Holt Rock. For a nice fun ride: Fossil Flats.
