Ridden Trail: Once a week

Cross Country Rider Summary: I live here in Russellville and its an awesome trail to just be able to go out to. Dont plan a trip around the trail though, go to Moccassin Gap for that. The trail is pretty fast but it seems that whenever you get a lot of speed you have to slow down due to all of the switchbacks and the turns have sand in them so you really have to slow down. But if you live near here than come, or if your just driving through visit the trail because there are some technical areas and great vistas of the river along the bluffs and a pretty sweet waterfall if you go far enough down the bluff trail. Recommended Route: start on the trail that crosses the road across from the parking lot to get warmed up and then from the parking lot go left and clockwise on the trails, tis the best way to go for speed. Other recommended trails in the same area: Mt Nebo

Racer Summary: Not a bad little trail to be at the end of town. If you are looking for something a little more technical up there try the walking trail at the top of the hill by the bathrooms. There is also a good little jump down main street. Trail has a few good climbs and some technical down hills. Overall the trail is pretty fast and you cant beat the location. Recommended Route: I would recomend starting at the tennis courts and climbing the hill next to the road first. Then when you are at the top by the street go to the North West corner by the bathrooms. There is a little trail down there that will take you along the top of a ridge looking over the river. It dumps you out at the top of powerline so it is pretty much an all downhill ride from there. Great little route with great views. If you cant find the trail stop in at the local Highlander shop, on Arkansas, they will be more than happy to show you where any of the local trails are. There is also a little single track out there behind the driving range. Hard to find and hasnt been ridden in years but has a lot of potential. Other recommended trails in the same area: Brock Creek
Climbing Nebo
Mocasin Gap
Womble

Weekend Warrior Summary: A great trail that can be ridden at night up until 10pm. I wish it had more single track but it is still fun if a bit short.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Not a bad little hometown trail. Not a big fan of all the parking lot gravel and sand thrown about everywhere. Who's bright idea was that?! Misread the trail just slightly when you're going fast and you're gonna eat it hard on that crap. I understand maybe it was thrown down in an effort to preserve the trail after it rains, but anyone should know not to go tear up a trail right after a rain storm. Its not like its a long drive to get there considering its located at the south end of Russellville. Give it a day or two and I'm sure the trail will still be there when it dries up. With that off my chest, the trail itself is pretty decent. You get a few chances to test your technical side plus a few chances to let 'er rip on some downhill stretches. Wish it didn't have so many darn switchbacks. You get some speed going finally then you have to shut it down immediately because you've come upon yet another switchback--chances are the switchback is laiden with sand or gravel so you usually have to really slow down in order to execute the turn safely. Especially not cool when you're locked into clipless pedals. Great views throughout the trail. Again, you can't beat only having to drive 5 minutes in order to have some good trailriding fun. Great for a weekend ride. Once you've complete the trail system, you can set up shop at one of the many campsites or park pavilions and fire up the charcoal. All in all, if you're in town or located in one of the many "suburbs" of Russellville--The Fab Four, you know who you are--then come check it out. Otherwise, don't get your hopes up and plan any big trips out in this direction. Recommended Route: If you want to test your endurance then park at the top and start from there (you have to eventually ride up this hill at the end to get back to your car, which sucks. Anyone will feel like Lance Armstrong by the time they make it back to their car.). If you want to make it easier on yourself then park by the tennis courts and make the trek up the hill in the beginning and it won't seem so bad. Other recommended trails in the same area: Sweet Spot
Moccasin Gap
Powerline Trails of Skyline--not much there anymore but there used to be some good downhills and jumps.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Cool trail. The trail is a nice one to practice rolling bike skills. Lots of corners and swooshy stuff. Minimal climbing. Good for all ages and levels. Trails is armored in lots of areas so rides well after rains. Old Post park is cool. Nice trail head and bathrooms. Lots to do in park. Trails don't really go any where. The trail is the destination. Lots of competitive events there all year. Recommended Route: Ride trail in clockwise direction. Not marked very well so you can spend some time figuring it out, but for the most part the main track is discernable. Other recommended trails in the same area: Mount Nebo
Sweet Spot
Mount Magazine
Moccasin Gap
