Summary:
Rode this trail one on 4/18/07. Great trail but the back side of the North Loop is kind of tedious with alot of dismounts. Also - DO NOT do the Rocky Ridge Loop (points D to C) - it is covered in rocks that make you hike your bike unless you are good at trials riding! Very frustrating. Also, bottom of South Loop (C to B) may not be great for bikes - mainly for hikers - due to off camber and twisty, according to my wife who hiked it.
Not too hard to get too - go to Lake Ouchita State Park (about 20 min from Hot Springs) and then proceed through park to the right once you see the lake. The road then turns to gravel. Take the first left (there is a 'small' sign pointing to the trails) and go to the end about 5-10 minutes. There is a campsite at the end on the lake, trail starts to your right after crossing a small foot bridge.

Summary:
Trail is normally a great ride but due to a couple of ice storms and a controlled burn by the U.S. Forest Service there is a lot of dead timber on the trail. The combination of the dead timber and overgrowth has made this trail nearly unrideable unless it is late fall or winter. Until the Forest Service finds it within their budget to clean up the downed timber that is on the trail and caused for the most part by their controlled burn, I would skip this trail and go to Cedar Glades or Womble.

Recommended Route:
Counter-clockwise doing Morgan Hollow followed by the South Loop.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Womble, Cedar Glades, and Crystal Springs/Charlton.

Summary:
Mostly single track, w/ some double track forest/fire roads. South loop is great, bench singletrack that winds around Lake Ouachita. Many switchbacks on lake fingers. Don't go over the edge, you'll end up in the lake. Great singletrack, some rocks. North loop similar, but not as scenic. Skip the other loops, they're overgrown. rode here once after they Rx burned, and had a little trouble staying on parts of the trail; no big deal.

Recommended Route:
South loop for sure, but counter clockwise. North loop too.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Charlston/Crystal Springs.

Summary:
This is a nice trail situated near Ouachita State Park (I highly recommend camping here, it is spotless) The first part of the South Loop is great, big climbs and nice downhills. The trail is a mix of hardpack and rock. The forest is great. However, once you pass marker "C" the trail becomes very different. Once you pass the ridge of the mountain, it is very hairy. Lots of rock and very narrow trails on a steep slope with lots of loose gravel. Be very careful. I do not recommend beginners ride the course from point "C" to "A" The view of the lake is great but be prepared to walk if you do ride C to A. There are areas that are not passable on a bike period. Follow the recommended route below.

Recommended Route:
Counter clockwise. Points A - K - L - G - F - L - K - A and repeat. The maps are very clearly marked.
