Racer Summary: This trail is indeed closed the post below is from a person that gives mountain bikers a bad name it is becuase of them that we get kicked out of places where we can ride. Do not attempt to ride this trail. After talking to an official in Hot Springs I was told that any one found on the premises will be hit for criminal tresspassing. The county has allowed us to use the new area so please ride there instead and not the water works we are trying to work with the city on this and people like the post below make it very hard for us to do so. He is from out of town so he does not have to deal with the situation.
Thanks Recommended Route: Ride Cedar Glades or check out some other trails in the area go to www.mtbark.com Other recommended trails in the same area: Cedar Glades, Little Blakely, Womble
not Water Works go to www.mtbark.com for more places to ride

, from Fayetteville AR Summary: THE HUN TRAIL CLOSED ! My fat hairy pedal-pushing ars its closed! It may be officially closed to things such as races, organized public trail rides, and stuff of the like........But as long as you can ride around the gates....NO ONE CARES> a city employee at the water treatment plant saw me and my buddy and I am stilllllllll here to tell you about it. After driving 3 plus hours to get all the way out to Hell Springs, I said to myself, "Self, You are not terroristy looking so you are the exception to the rule today!" There are some rock slab sections that get slick, slick, and some decent scenery with the usual creeks and things Arkansas has to offer. It's a little on the short side, but, when you get done, you can go ride the "replacement Hun trail" that is located right next to it. To sum up what is more appropriately named "Water Works," The hun is probably one of Arkansas' better rides. Other recommended trails in the same area: Womble and almost anything in the Ouachita National Forrest

Reviewed by: Fred Sprockett Summary: Since Dihydrogen Monoxide treatment plant is closed, the new route is the place to ride. Same directions, except go on down Cedar Glades Rd and take 1st right past the landfill. Coooool trail, many ups and downs, rights and lefts. Some long ups, and some steep downs. If it's wt or has been wet lately, trail will be slickpack. But still cool and more exciting. Ride counter clockwise, folow trail past outhouse then go to the right and hav fun. Tires thatwork well in slickpack (slick hard pack with spots of mud) ae best. Recommended Route: Follow Fig Newton Other recommended trails in the same area: CARP trails in Camp Robinson in N. Lttle Rock.

, from Columbus, OH Summary: Supposedly this trail is supposed to be closed due to terrorists contaminating the Hot Springs drinking water. I think it's a shame that they are trying to keep guys from riding this trail. Don't be discouraged though... there were plenty of people out there on dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, fishing boats, and pick-up trucks... all of which are illegal... of which mountain bikes are the lessor evil. The first 3 miles were kinda boring climbing fire roads but look for the ATH signs and there you'll find some fun single track. The rollercoaster on the backside is fun to fly down as fast as you can go. Plus there are cool waterfalls... what more could you ask for? Recommended Route: Ride the loop as published. The gates may be closed but park at the top outside of the gates of the Water Treatment Plant and ride on down. Other recommended trails in the same area: Womble! Camp Robinson! ATH
