Continuation of Upper Oldham...fun and difficulty proportional to speed...twisty turns over and around boulders...

Summary:
Fast flowing single track with very few technical challenges.

Recommended Route:
I started off at Buffalow Park and made the climb up to rocky ridge. Coming from the Valley the elevation really affected me but the climb is not difficult from a technical standpoint.

Coming back down was a blast. Trail was loose here and there but otherwise it had plenty of grip.

Summary:
If you live near Buffalo Park (like I do) Lower Oldham is your backyard playground. Its either a nice warm-up for a longer ride or a little chunk of singletrack that you can get in after work almost any time of the year. There's a ton of singletrack trails off this trail east of Elden Lookout Road with a couple fun/rocky/technical sections. I definitely did something good in a previous life to have this trail in my backyard...

Recommended Route:
Buffalo Park to Lower Oldham, Up Oldham to Elden Lookout Road, up-up-up Elden Lookout to the Catwalk, down the Catwalk to Little Bear, Little Bear to Shultz Creek, Shultz Creek to Rocky Ridge, Rocky Ridge to Lower Oldham, Lower Oldham back to Buffalo Park--Buffalo Park to living room couch

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Just about anything you can get to from this trail-avoid going up upper Oldham (damn near impossible).

Summary:
Probably the best and easiest way to get from town to the other trails around Elden and the dry lake hills system. It's a moderate climb up, and a descent ride down especially combined with Upper and Middle Oldham. Not overly technical, but still good. While not really a great ride in it's self, it is the best way to get to the other trails in the area. As a side note, the person/persons that is continually giving poor reviews of Flagstaff trails is misrepresenting this trail system... IMHO. :)

Recommended Route:
See Little Bear.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Little Bear, Schultz Creek, The Brookbanks and Oldhams, and all the rest.

Summary:
This is a great way to get up on Mt. Elden and to the other singletrack trails. Nice warmup on the way up, and it's a good roll on the way down. Like one other reviewer said, if your not having fun go faster. Watch for hikers especially on weekends. Good trail for beginners to get some lungs and legs, as well as practice some tech stuff on easy round rocks that build confindence. There were some obstacles built on some fallen trees but they were taken out again, I assume by a "maintainence" crew. If a tree falls in the forest is there anyone there to "manage" it?
Special thanks go out to Spanky McDillweed and anyone else who give bogus ratings to trails. If you can't use this site for what it's meant for then don't use it, OK?

Recommended Route:
Start at Buffalo Park, ride up L. Oldham, connect some singletrack, then return via L. Oldham back to parking lot.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Anything on Mt. Elden.

From Buffalo Park this trail is a good ride for all. Not too technical for the beginer and not too boring for the rest.It has a good short climb thats not too steep or rocky. With lots of dips and twisty areas to keep it intresting. This trail hooks up with many other trails that are even better.

Recommended Route:
Start at Buffalo Park and go up.Ya cant go wrong if ya keep going up.Down is a fine ride as well if your already up.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Ride this trail up to upper brookbank to little bear and then down schults creek to the Mt. Eldon rd.up to the lower oldham and then back down to the park!.Sweet rides but a little loose in the dry season.
