Casa Grande Mountain

Average Rating:    (4.29 of 5)

Single Track. Eleven uphill turns or switchbacks leading to fine mountainside singletrack. Then back down to the desert floor. Been riding here twice a week since trail was finished in Oct. 03. Intermediate at slow speeds. The Faster you go the tougher it gets. Very Cool Bridge over a wash!

Summary:
New trail head!
New Ridge Trail is flowier and mellower than most of the rest. Good views of ugly I-10.

Recommended Route:
West on Sunland Gin Rd to first right Arica and follow to end parking, trail head.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
South Mountain, Tempe.

Summary:
Rough & bumpy trail, difficult to follow @ times. Make sure to have spare tubes, pieces of cactus everywhere. Good trail but not worth the drive from PHX.

Recommended Route:
Take Peart south to the end under the I-8, park @ the end of the road or turn left off the road onto dirt road which eventually bends back right, park to right on dirt clearing or keep going.

Leave the tubes at the bike shop and go tubeless! I think this trail system is fantastic. Yes it's rough in places and cactus is strewn all over the place but I think these trails are definitely worth riding. Phoenicians have plenty of comparable trails closer , so CGM won't be a weekly ride, but everyone should check it out at least once. Next time you are on your way to Tucson or San Diego, stop at CGM for a spin.

not a bad trail a little hard to find if you have never been there. Pretty fun especially if you are taking a beginer with you.
