Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Weekend Warrior Summary: I think this might be the best trail in Sedona. It has a great mix of short ascents and descents. The single track flows really well. There is plenty of tracking for climbing and braking everywhere you go. Some of the short climbs can be tricky but nothing that can't be ridden. Recommended Route: Ride this as an out and back. Don't waste great riding time be returning on the rode. Access this trail from Templeton. Get a trail map, it will really help. Other recommended trails in the same area: All of the trails in Sedona.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I recently took a trip to Arizona for the first time and spent several days in Sedona...I only had a day open for riding and decided to check out the Cathedral Trail-which turned out to be a lot of fun. Decent (but not too difficult) ascents, sharp switchbacks, different terrains, beautiful views-a nice introductory ride overall. Recommended Route: I jumped on the Bell Rock route across from the Bike and Bean, rode Bell Rock to the Templeton Trail which wraps around Cathedral and down towards Oak Creek and then shot up the Baldwin Trail to Valley Verde Rd.-which takes you back to SR 179. Other recommended trails in the same area: Submarine Trail sounds like a blast-wish I had more time!

Weekend Warrior Summary: I really enjoyed this trail. It has some awesome terrain with not to much climbing. There is a great swimming hole on the Oak Creek across from what is called Buddha Beach. Great scenery of Cathedral Rock and other Sedona red rock formations. Trail also has some sections of Navajo sandstone slickrock. Recommended Route: We started at the trailhead near the Circle K store on the north end of Oak Creek and across from Bike-n-Bean. Other recommended trails in the same area: Submarine Rock loop.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Never let it be said that there is a shortage of trails in Sedona, and Cathedral is one of the best. I cant believe I am the first one to report on it. Of course it links with so many other trail in the area. After riding this particular trail the first time, I was so stoked I went back to our cabin partied till 3:OO AM and got back up at 6:00AM just to ride it again! That is what kind of trail it is. Recommended Route: take the 179, east from oak creek stop at a street called Beyond O Back. Park at the church on the northeast corner. Go south on the pavement (down Beyond O Back) about a mile or two and then youll hit the trailhead. Go up and east. Hook up the the Bell rock trail to return. It ends up back at the church. Other recommended trails in the same area: Llama trail, submarine rock.
