Summary:
Just moved to Phoenix and getting used to the trails. I'm from England so the riding here is way different. Papago is a great place to ride. It's not a mountain ride - there are no 10 minute downhills but it has plenty of variety. Lots of techy ups and sweet downs, there's so many trails interconnecting too that you never have to take the same route. Check out the short but swift downhill behind the hole in the rock, nice speed jump there. Ride around get nice and warmed up then head out to the jumps. I'd been riding here a few times and never seen them, then one morning, I stumbled into them. There are some sick jumps in the hill to bowl area, I ain't tryin some of'em neither but its a rush and there are jumps for all.

Recommended Route:
No good at directions to be honest, if you need to get to the jumps, and I think you do, then read the papgo alternate route posting or email me for directions. I'm out there maybe every weekend, depends, drop me a line if you wanna hook up for a ride.

Only estrella loops so far, I'm new here ! Estrella is okayish though, just a little bland with no real meat to it.

A friend of mine had been hounding me for a ride so I took her here. She, who had neve been near a mountain bike, absolutley loved it!
If you have someone who is a very occasional rider or who is just starting out I think this place is a good place to start them out without scarring the S@#T! out of them. If you are used to riding hardcore, technical, sick, oh my god i am going to die! single track, go to south mountain!...and give me a buzz!

Summary:
Papago is a fun and challenging advanced beginner ride. Although it's in the middle of the city, you can definitely wet your whistle as to what to expect on more prominent trails. Mostly grippy singletrack a little loose in some of the washes, watch for other riders and hikers in the turns.

Recommended Route:
Access from east side of Galvin Parkway, Head NW toward butte and ride up what is likely the steepest climb (short and a little loose) the park offers. Follow all singletrack you find around the buttes, it's fun riding.

Summary:
keeran from durango has made some mistakes, we'll forgive him, we all make mistakes. he claims papago is lame, phoenix riding sucks, as does flagstaff riding, and that durango is the shit. apparently durango boy is of the old school (little skill, high fitness) papago has some nice jumps and rock drops, phoenix boasts a variety of challenging trails if you know where to find them. as for flagstaff, i guess keeran can't handle the gnarly stunts BC style. (you know, build it sick, build it high, build it skinny). sorry keeran stay in durango with your titanium bike and leave the real riding for the real riders.

Recommended Route:
any route you desire
