F.I.N.S.,(Fantasy Island North Singletrack)is located in Estrella Mt. Ranch. To get there you go south from I-10 on Estrella Parkway 10.18 miles, turn R on Weststar for 1/2 mile, park at School and ride to trailhead 1/2 mi +. L turn at left turn lane is start of trailhead. This is a hiking, biking only trail. It took 2 yrs to build it is well marked with trail signs that have the names of the trail or hub. Some of the signs will include the pucker factors 1 to 4, 4 being the highest. It should be a fun & challenging trail for Intermediate and up. Beginers need some single track experience before riding this trail. There is pucker 3&4s on almost every trail. This trail will bite you if you don't pay attention. We are going to build a section for the beginner bikers soon, puckers 1 -3). If you do all of the trails you will climb 900 ft or more in the 7 miles. Grunt, Kylie's Crossing, Wayne's World, Bone Yard, Harv's Howl, Bear Claw and Hurts Donut will tax your skills while Murel's mile, Joey's Jaunt,Spent spade, Rusty rake, Kims klimb, Randy's ridge and Base Butte will be just plane fun. We are building two more trails Jim's Assent just for the ardent climbers. It will take you to the top of the highest point of the mountain and will have a 4 pucker rating for exposer. I have been riding this trail for over a year and don't get tired of it. It is our wish for you to enjoy the trails but please stay under control, sliding tires makes more work.
Summary: I just rode this trail for the first time and am absolutely amazed that something this sweet exists in Phoenix. The trail is HARD PACK, in fantastic condition, and has a variety of technical riding. It can be quite easy or quite hard depending on what parts you ride and how you ride it. Lots of little up and downs that if ridden slowly are fun trying to ride fast exhausting. The outer loop is a beautiful hammerfest of a good time and climbing some of the hills are lung busters with some really tight twisty descents that will test your switchback ability. A long drive out there, but well worth it.
FYI-When you park at the school, ride about 1/3 of a mile west of the school and turn left at the first barricade that you see on the left. That is the start of the trail network.
Recommended Route: Just take random turns and see where it leads you.

Summary: Not trying to be an alarmist here, but I feel it prudent to mention
that there is a potentially dangerous situation here. I rode the trail yesterday, and came across a mountain lion while riding. It followed me for nearly 2 miles before I was able to get off the trail and onto a
jeep road that took me back to the road mentioned in the directions
above. This trail is pretty remote compared to other areas like south mountain, so it's not a complete surprise to me.
That said, there were a couple big mistakes I made that I hope you will
all avoid, unlike me. I know you are never supposed to ride alone, especially in an unfamiliar area, but I did anyway. I also went
there in the middle of the day during the week, also not smart.
Again, not trying to scare people, because it's a fun trail others should experience. Bring a group and be safe.
Summary: Great trail system. Lots of variety for all different riding abilities. Trails were well marked and maintained with tons of great views.
Recommended Route: Murel (Murel's Mile)and Harvey(Harv's Howl)provided me tour of about 90% of the trails. Jim's Star Pass and Grunt trails are the most technical to conquer as I took a few untimely soil and catus samples. Really enjoyed Murel's Mile and Boneyard trails. Make sure your check out the animal skeleton strategically placed at the sumit of Boneyard. The remaining trails offered just enough technical sections that made challenging and tons of fun for us intermediate level riders.

Summary: Finally got a chance to check this place out today, and I must say, this is a solid trail system. If you live on the west side, then your options are slim to begin with, but this place is very fun and rivals a lot of the other popular trails in Phoenix.
Most of the trails are fairly tame, but all are extremely fun. A few are quite challenging, though, so there's something for everyone. The surface is clean and fast for the most part, nothing like the decaying Estrella Loops. All of the trails are well marked, with only 1-2 junctions that are a bit ambiguous. It's not crowded at all considering it's right in the middle of a large residential development.
I consider myself to be a very casual rider in very average shape. These trails are right in my comfort zone in terms of technical challenge and physical exertion. They're tons of fun and there's lots to explore (I only hit the front "half" this time). Definitely worth checking out if you live on the west side; well worth the drive...
Summary: Lots of great singletrack and lots of loop options. Love riding this trail...especially at night. Good to take a friend who knows the trail for the first time out.
Recommended Route: Any route, can't go wrong, its a blast.
