, from arlington, tx usa Summary: fun trail with some great scenery! we did this trail in august with day time highs in the sedona area at over 100 the san francisco mnts were a refreshing 75! 2.5 mile climb from buffalo park to the start of rocky ridge and then a fun 3+ miles coming down rocky ridge and back to buffalo park. watch out for the mud at the start/end of this trail if it rains. it is thick black mud that is very hard to get off and impossible to ride in. try to be off the trail by 1pm in july and aug as i rains/lightning almost every afternoon Recommended Route: park buffalo park, take oldham to rock ridge and back to buffalo park. Other recommended trails in the same area: little bear, sunset, little narely, schlutz creek

, from Flag Summary: I use upper oldham as a way to get to the top of mount elden. If you don't like dealing with the traffic and the people getting rides to the top with their bikes on the forest road then stay off it! Upper oldham is a shorter distance to the top than the road, because it climbs steeper. It is fairly technical and rough with an awful camber to the trail on the decomposed granite switchbacks. But riding up this trail will definitly increase your skills(especially with snow on the ground). It can be fun to ride down, but I like going down sunset more. Basically I use this trail to not get dusted out by the cars, because you almost always see idiots/crackheads/cowmolesters blasting up and down the road and around blind corners in their trucks. Recommended Route: Ride up all the Oldhams from Buffalo Park. Then take sunset down, little bear down, little elden up, schultz creek down, rocky ridge over, and back down lower oldham to buffalo park. Other recommended trails in the same area: Most Mount Elden trails are great.

, from flagstaff Summary: i had to review this trail when i saw its low rating. any trail with 1000+ feet of descent cannot have a sub-3.0 rating. yeah, its not the premiere single track in the area, and its loose it sections, but still a good option. i wouldn't ride this trail everyday, but sometimes it makes a good option. its the quickest trail from top to bottom on elden. link with middle oldham and lower oldham complex to get back to buffalo park. this trail is steep and rocky up top and fast and furious toward the bottom. hold on. its not the most buff singletrack on elden, but if you're in the mood for some baby head style rocks and some furious speeds check out upper oldham. Recommended Route: down from top of elden lookout road. there are signs. Other recommended trails in the same area: all of the elden complex rules
